The carnage at the Russian school in Belsan was shocking. This indeed makes me sad and angry. So many innocent children died because some 'Muslim warriors' decided to turn the political situation into a 'holy war'.

Muslims worldwide need to admit that most of the terrorists today are Muslims. Stop giving excuses that Muslims are oppressed. This does not justify terror acts against other fellow human beings.

As a non-Muslim in this country, I know that blind terror acts are not the true teachings of Islam. But as a result of them, I dare say that the image of Islam is at its lowest point in human history today.

What happened after the Russian hostage crisis? The Organisation of Islamic Conference secretary-general issued a statement to condemn the act of terror but will this make a difference?

When this kind of tragedy occurs, action needs to be taken by the Muslim world spearheaded by the OIC.

It is futile to condemn terror acts with just words. To combat terror, the West had to resort to drastic measures which seem to target Muslims, but can we blame them?

Whatever is said, only the Western world had the guts to take action - even though it may not be right for certain people - in order to contain these terrorists.

They took action, when the Muslim world did not. The Muslim world continues to talk and talk without action. They continue to blame others. They continue to quarrel with each other. They continue to debate minor issues.

What the Muslim world is doing today is just trying to avoid the problem. They choose to live in the past and not in the present.

I have only seen one true Muslim have the courage to blame his fellow Muslims for falsely interpreting events and that is our beloved Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

Until Muslims admit their own weaknesses, I see no hope of any change. The next terrorist act will almost certainly be perpetrated by a Muslim. It will probably be another suicidal attack or hostage-taking episode, killing more innocent human beings.
