The exodus for 'balik kampung' during the recent festive season has come and gone. It was utter and total chaos on the highways with congestions and reduced road lanes, particularly for those heading north.
The problem was compounded by the bad driving habits of some drivers who made the whole experience totally frustrating for other road-users.
Having observed the behaviour of Malaysian motorists and their persistent calls to reduce the cost motoring, I have come up with several suggestions that I think can improve things:
Everyone has been complaining about the high cost of motoring as well as being a motorist. The methods below can save some cost and make our motoring experience all that much cheaper.
- Remove the signal lights from all vehicles; no one uses them these days. New cars should come without them or as optional items.
Abolish the practice of having number plates and replace them with any markings of your choice. Many of the new 'stealth' number plates on the road can't even be read even in daylight so why bother having them in the first place?
I believe my suggestions above will make our roads that much more cheaply to use and reduce motoring costs. Any takers?
