Save Malaysia, let us sue Sarawak Report in London

It’s been over a year since Wall Street Journal and Sarawak Report exposed the 1MDB loss of billions and how billions were transferred into Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak’s personal accounts.

The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) and leaders claim all those reports were lies, slanderous and even doctored to mislead the public. Since the PMO had said they are going to sue the Wall Street Journal, we await ‘patiently’ for them to do so.

Back from Hari Raya holidays, the peaceful mind was disrupted by yet another expose from Sarawak Report, this time on the auditor-general’s 1MDB report which was for reason unknown classified under the Official Secrets Act (OSA).

By now everyone is jumping mad including Multimedia and Communications Minister Salleh Said Keruak, who seems to be more concerned on the leakage without really saying if the reports were true, but if it’s not true why is he being so furious?

The public may be misled by Sarawak Report as claimed by the minister but are the rakyat also being misled by the authorities investigating 1MDB’s missing billions, while billions were being transferred into Prime Minister Najib’s personal accounts?

While Wall Street Journal and Sarawak Report have laid out the facts and with certain documentary proofs accompanying their reports thus far, the government has not provided any physical proofs to counter those reports other than claiming it’s all lies, slander and doctored.

I wanted to believe the government side of their story but am holding back after seeing how they are preserving the truth from the public via OSA, Parliament and ministers’ warning statements.

Seven nations are probing 1MDB and Malaysia is just doing the opposite. Maybe the seven nations were wrong since Prime Minister Najib had claimed that ‘winter is over’, the rationalisation plan has been a success and there is nothing wrong with 1MDB.

The situation has come to a point of who to believe? Both sides are claiming they are right, yet the government, other than issuing statement of denials, are not suing anyone for the alleged lies, slander and doctored documents.

Can I suggest a solution to any NGOs, Umno, BN or opposition who may be interested. I am not a lawyer nor have much knowledge about laws here and in the UK.

What I know is that most truth if not all will eventually be make known in the court of law. Let us, the public, sue Sarawak Report in London since those lies, slander and doctored documents as claim by Malaysia originated from there.

I am sure the attorney-general will be willing to lead a team of witnesses like Prime Minister Najib, all those leaders and ministers who seem to know that Sarawak Report were all lies, slander and doctored, the inspector-general of police (IGP), the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), Bank Negara Malaysia’s Zeti Akhtar Aziz, the auditor-general, the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) chairperson and not to miss out 1MDB’s Arul Kanda Kandasamy in order that they need not be subpoenaed.

If 1MDB or the government are willing to provide the funds, all the better, if not those taking up this challenge can appeal for donations from the public which I am sure will be overwhelmingly supported as everyone wanted to know the real truth about 1MDB and Prime Minister Najib’s RM4.2 billion.

Should the public lose the case, don’t think Sarawak Report will make any claim since it had been vindicated, instead Sarawak Report can sue the Malaysian government for slander.

Save Malaysia from further embarrassment and one way or another a court action needs to be initiated for the whole truth to be known.
