LETTER | Several days after GE14, while the nation was celebrating and the elected MPs and assemblypersons were still feeling high on their win, I wrote that the BN is down but not dead, and they are reorganising and find an opportune time to strike back.

I believe many others have highlighted the same concern since then. If by chance, any of the Pakatan Harapan leaders to read this article, I hope they consider the points given below.

I am all for fair play and for the nation to progress, we need a strong opposition.

However, the opposition must play fairly and if they are in possession of any illicit gains or any government assets, it must be returned. We don't know how much has been siphoned from the national coffers and where the monies are.

We cannot depend on the government service entirely to account for the losses. We cannot depend on the intelligence and police to monitor every politician. There are just not enough resources going around.

It is also troubling to read articles about trucks of cash moved under the intelligence services of the army and police. How do we verify this? Can we trust the police and army on the statement on this?

As such it would be the responsibility of every Harapan member to be the eyes and ears of the party and the government and monitor the movement of every key BN leaders.

I would recommend that Rafizi Ramli reactivate Invoke to become an intelligence gathering centre. Invoke has enough volunteers to monitor the movement of key BN leaders at national, state and district level.

There is a need to have a systematic compilation of verified information and report to the authorities. There is a need to follow up with the authorities on the leads extended to them.

Why is this important? As mentioned we need a strong opposition that operates on a level playing field as well that operates ethically. We don't want to see country assets and cash being stolen right under the nose of the government while the people and Harapan leaders are still celebrating their success.

The people must ensure that any assets belonging to the government are returned. We don't want to see these assets being used to destabilise the government.

Malaysia's debt is staggering and every measure must be taken to reduce the debt. This means that all key political leaders living an extraordinary lifestyle must be investigated. They need to justify their wealth.

Invoke needs to reposition itself as a tool to support the government and be the government’s eyes and ears as well as a mouthpiece. It is a waste if Harapan do not make full use of Invoke and let the organisation go into hibernation after the May 9 election.
