All religions deserve equal rights

'Malaysians must be taught to respect all religions practised in this country with Islam being the first to be respected for it is the religion of the majority' wrote R Rama Chandran in his letter BN MP right about religion, history .
I disagree with the writer. Just because a particular religion has more worshipers, it doesn't mean that it should be respected more. Malaysia is multi-racial and worshipers of each religion have equal rights.
Unfortunately, some people assume that they and their religion are superior. Which is the root cause of all ills in our country.
We would be truly free when state and religion are separated and people are granted their rights as enshrined in the constitution.
