I refer to you report Don't threaten, BN Youth wings warn police .

The message and warning from the MCA Youth , MIC Youth and Gerakan Youth wings to the police pertaining to its rebellion to the proposal to set up the Independent Police Complaints and Misconduct Commission (IPCMC) would totally be ineffective if Umno and Umno Youth leaders are not supportive of having IPCMC in the first place.

The youth wings of three Barisan Nasional (BN) component parties must first demand that Umno Youth leaders explain to the rakyat the latter's reason for its opposition to the IPCMC. In this respect, for the sake of the rakyat, Umno must reveal what the IGP had stated in recent closed- door meetings with Umno MPs regarding the IPCMC.

Umno's disinterest in the IPCMC has sent shockwaves throughout the country. Public interest and national security should be upheld in order to maintain public confidence and accountability of the police force. This should not take a backseat to alleged political considerations including vile threats by the police to vote for opposition in the next election.

It may come as no surprise to the youth wings of the three Barisan Nasional (BN) component that the dominant partner in the Barisan Nasional coalition ie, Umno is trying to manoeuver them and the rakyat into in accepting opposing to the formation of the IPCMC. Some people even call this 'diplomacy'.

Not forming the IPCMC as recommended by the Royal Police Commission is like watching an arrow aiming for the 'bulls-eye' target but veering away at the very last second to strike something else instead.
