LETTER | Police must act quickly to find the truth on alleged court conspiracy
LETTER | There are a few ways to look at the purported conspiracy to expedite the court proceedings involving Umno leaders like former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak and party president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi. Whichever way we choose to look at this so-called conspiracy, the most important factor is the truth.
The judiciary has denied there was such a conspiracy, and a police report has been made against the allegations. This is good. The police must now take immediate action to investigate and the results made known.

The judiciary has denied there was such a conspiracy, and a police report has been made against the allegations. This is good. The police must now take immediate action to investigate and the results made known.
The bigger concern is when the police investigation led to nothing, i.e. there was no conspiracy to expedite the court proceedings to convict the two Umno leaders. If that is the case, we will now have a “manufactured” conspiracy in our hands. Perhaps there are people out there who are trying to create doubts about our judiciary or want the court proceedings halted or slowed down.
In the past, some government leaders have alleged that there were representations made to them to interfere with the court cases involving the two Umno leaders. I guess this is the best time to clear once for all whether these government leaders have been approached to interfere.
I hope the police will act expeditiously to find out the truth. Otherwise, doubts will linger on which are bad for the country.
If there were genuine attempts to “fix” the court proceedings involving senior government leaders and judiciary members, it means our judiciary is indeed broken. However, if the allegations were not true, those involved in manufacturing this conspiracy must be brought to account. They are, in fact, trying to subvert our judiciary.
