I refer to the letter Thrill of first visit to M'sia dampened and would like to ask whether the writer, Brad Shepherd, had confirmed if the immigration officers attending to him spoke any English at all?

Not all Malaysians, unlike his Malaysian wife, speak English, especially those rank-and-file government officers. Some of these government employees do not know how to form a grammatically correct English sentence.
