I refer to the letter Let Pak Lah fly SIA . I wish to advise Restless Native not to fly SIA let alone advise Pak Lah to fly SIA. The reason is because he is a native, and like Pak Lah not a Caucasian.

SIA's cabin crew (consisting mainly of Chinese Malaysians, recruited on meritocratic principles) tend to ignore persons like Restless Native as a result of his 'native' Asian background. Special preference is always given to Caucasian passengers, although both non-Caucasian as well as Caucasian passengers pay the same air fare.

As regards to Lee Kuan Yew's advice on wasteful expenditure of Third World leaders' extravagant air travel, perhaps Lee should take Restless Native's advice.

When his wife suffered a stroke in London a few years ago, Lee converted a whole aircraft (a Boeing 747 presumably) into a hospital and flew to London with just the air-crew and medical staff.

The plane, on its return leg, carried only one patinet - Mrs Lee Kuan Yew.

If that is not extravagance, perhaps Restless Native should tell us what extravagance means.
