I refer to the letter by Manjit Bhatia entitled Racialist system to stay .

I don't think we really need Bhatia to reassure us how incapable and hopeless both the BN government and opposition of the present day are.

Nor do we need Bhatia's lengthy presentation of how they rest on the communal politics which, according to his defeatist point of view, will stay for another half of century.

Living conditions in Malaysia are deteriorating, and Malaysians are coping hard everyday to make their ends meet. Some may not have anything to fall back on. They may not even have the luxury to lament of their hard life, let alone migrate to a better off country, where they could comfortably express elitist theories like Bhatia's.

When it comes to genuine political and social change which Malaysians long for, the participation and commitment from open-minded people like Bhatia is needed. So Bhatia, can you do us a favour (at least for those working hard on the ground to bring change) by just keeping your defeatist rhetoric to yourself in Australia?

Even if Bhatia's defeatist rhetoric is proven right in future, it is still not going to make me appreciate it.
