I refer to the letter Unadulterated chauvinism in S'pore in which M Ahmad deliberately presented false facts regarding the Malays in our Singapore Armed Forces.

Daily one can spot Singapore Malays in their army fatigues in the early morning rush hours in the MRT stations or trains going to camps. Many more are reservists.

Years back, our National Day Parade commander was a high-ranking Malay officer. Saw him? Is M Ahmad blind?

Again, many Malay soldiers volunteered their help in the aftermath of the tsumani incident in Indonesia. Was M Ahmad blind to it again?

For years now, we have a number of Malays serving in the National Service and sometime back at least one was a fighter pilot. Recently in Taiwan, one Singaporean Malay soldier died in an airbase mishap there.

And never in the news did the present prime minister (Lee Kuan Yew's son) say that Malays cannot be trusted because they are Muslim.

M Ahmad should look at his own backyard first before making sweeping statements that are misleading to the Malaysians. He should ask himself why no Chinese are in the Malaysian Army.

All the years of the Malaysian government marginalising the minorities is a well-known global fact that I do not need to hightlight here. Their skewed view of the minorities in Malaysia is already devastating to their national cohesion and trust.

M Ahmad should research into the sins committed by the Malaysian army against the unarmed Chinese in Kuala Lumpur during the 1969 racial riots. Google for it and he will have his field day.

M Ahmad's unpolished remarks reflected his deep Malay-chauvinistic ego. Period.
