I refer to the letter Allah term not to confuse or propagate in which the writer claims that Christianity does not propagate using trickery. The fact is that the use of the term ‘Allah’ in the Bible simply cannot be justified.

The word ‘Allah’ does not appear anywhere in the original Greek Bible. God has many names in the Bible for example, Lord, Father, Almighty, Beloved, Jesus, Holy Ghost, Adonai and even Jehovah, but no ‘Allah’.

The word ‘Allah’ used in the Arabic Bible is actually a translation and not an original word. Thus the word ‘Allah’ is only acceptable for use in the Arabic version of the Bible and no other.

On the other hand, the word ‘Allah’ is actually used in the Quran. Surah al-Ikhlas in the Quran states ‘Qul Huw Allah Huw Ahad’ which is translated as ‘Say he is Allah, the one and only’. In fact, there is no other original revelation from God in the world whether the Vedas of the Hindus or the Torah of the Jews where the word ‘Allah’ is used.

The word Allah only appears in the Quran. Which brings us back to the original question, why are Christians using the word ‘Allah’ for God when God already has many names in the Bible. Why not pick a name from the Bible, for example, ‘Jehovah’? Why borrow a word from the Quran when you already have a long list of names to choose from?

The Catholic Church should not be allowed to use the word ‘Allah’ because it makes absolutely no sense and only gives rise to suspicion.
