Great news! Nicol David has retained her world junior title. With that she has achieved what few Malaysians have done and brought glory to the nation, in particular the state of Penang. She is an excellent sportswoman who is an excellent student too, despite her hectic schedule of playing in so many tournaments a year.

For her dedication to the sport and the glory that she has brought to her home state, the state government should consider rewarding her in the same manner the Selangor government rewarded the badminton players who regained the Thomas Cup.

That will certainly be the biggest reward of her career. Recognition of her efforts from the state.
