Please migrate if you can't respect the sultans

I refer to the Malaysiakini report PM: They've disrespected sultan's decision .

First of all, I would like to state and qualify that I am a Malay, but not a racist and neither do I support any political party...but I love my country.

In light of the recent political developments in Perak, I believe many people are getting too emotional and what is expected of them as citizen or residents.

I urge the people of Malaysia to respect the sultans, think before penning your thoughts, use good judgements with proper decorum and do not hurt the feelings of other citizens in commenting on events.

Malaysia was originally inhibited by the Orang Asli and by the Melayu. The colonials brought in the Indians, Chinese and other races.

I believe we have been living in harmony and these other races feel at home to the extent that some are beginning to feel that this country belongs to them, which is very good.

Unfortunately, the situation recently changed with the propaganda of certain political parties and with certain Malays forgetting their origins/roots and losing their sense of identity. The other races have also lost respect for their original hosts (the Malays).

This country has sultans and they must be respected unless they break the law (this is very subjective though) or commit immoral acts.

If the people (some Malays included) who live in this country feel that they cannot respect the sultans anymore and make statements that hurt the feelings of their hosts (the original Malays) or disregard the feelings of the host, they should consider migrating.

As the Malay proverb says, masuk kandang kambing mengembek, masuk kandang kerbau menguak or the English version, ‘When in Rome, do as the Romans do’.

Forget about overthrowing the sultanate as the May 13, 1969 chaos will recur and we will lose this beloved country.

We must remember that the instability of a country will be manipulated by foreign powers. This means exercising control over a sovereign state or country and we do not want that to happen to our country.

Let's live in harmony. Voice our concerns or any dissatisfaction through your political representative or NGO.
