‘PAS, do not dream that you will get to rule this country with the help of Umno. History has shown Umno is nothing but a devil in disguise to court you and then dump you when they have achieved their objective.'
On Delegates slam unity gov't idea
Dian Abdullah: I do not care who won in the PAS elections. But I wish to caution those people who are in power in PAS to remember that many people like me voted for them in the last election.
This because we were are fed-up with the way BN had been governing us.
If the leaders and members of PAS think that they now can forget us and are working towards ‘unity' with Umno, then many of us will eventually give up voting for life.
We do not want to have anything to do with BN, especially with Umno.
I am very curious why MCA are not yelling their heads off over these unity talks between Umno and PAS but they scream their heads off when DAP works together with PAS. What the right hand can do, the left hand cannot.
PAS, do not dream that you will get to rule this country with the help of Umno.
History has shown Umno is nothing but a devil in disguise to court you and then dump you when they have achieved their objective.
Remember how they even mistreated Anwar Ibrahim like garbage, what more an Islamic party like PAS.
And PKR, do not take things for granted. The signs are there be alert. There must be alternative plans in case PAS decides to change places.
You have to fight the mountain which has the resources and money to woo PAS. Be prepared to have a three-cornered fight in the next election.
We want big change and will not tolerate parties having a hidden agenda to work with Umno.
On Hadi: Let's not shut our doors to others
Patriot: In his closing speech at 55th PAS muktamar in Shah Alam PAS President Abdul Hadi Awang painted a liberal picture of not shutting its doors to other parties for discussions.
If that is so, please also do not shut doors to parties who do not want an Islamic state imposed upon them.
MV: It seems PAS latest party agenda moves away from it's basics.
The traditional PAS which worked on the consistency of its politically- defined virtues has yet to bloom despite it's `red carpet' recognition.
Or shall it be said it was `Give this guys a chance as we have no other individual for a collective goodness'?
Certainly, Malaysians who cast their choice on that faithful day recall this everyday.
PAS consistency should in fact have reached its climax but it appears PAS invites opportunists at its general pleasure without considering sentiments of those who made it happen for PAS.
As the old mums say `When you have an extra meal on the table be grateful and thankful as you will never get another similar meal if you don't value it now'.
On Husam: I might have lost but...
Ong: The faction that is against PAS working with Umno knows that as long as Umno is still influential among the majority of Malays, PAS will never be the dominant partner in Pakatan.
I believe that this faction realises that if and when Umno's influence among Malays wanes, most of the support previously given to Umno will be transferred to PAS and not to PKR.
Of course, none will go to DAP.
Imagine that at the next GE if Umno loses half its existing seats (which I believe is possible) and if almost all of the lost seats go to PAS.
This will then make PAS the dominant partner in Pakatan in terms of parliamentary seats and PAS can then rightly claim the PM's post.
This is why the Erdogan faction is so against working with Umno and helping Umno to survive.
Clearly, the professional faction in PAS are a lot smarter than the ulama faction in terms of creating a strategy for PAS to claim the PM's post after the next GE.
On Khairy: Revive Umno-PAS talks
Lim Chong Leong: Khairy supports the revival of Umno-Pas talks. This I see as his and Umno's feeble attempt at driving a wedge into Pakatan's heart.
He says it is good to find some common ground between Umno and PAS to tackle national issues.
How can there be common ground when the national issues include police excesses and brutality, government corruption and the lack of transparency and accountability.
Pakatan has already identified pressing national issues such as the Altantuya murder with its many lingering questions.
The Kugan death which is still unsolved, the PKFZ scandal which needs a full exposure, the Perak coup d 'etat, judicial independence, the Lingam tape criminals still free, and I am sure many more.
Umno has done nothing to address these.
Unless there is full investigation and accountability for these issues, how can anyone accept Umno and cooperate with it?
If PAS chooses to ignore these issues, it does it at its own peril. The people will reject them.
