Coroner Azmil Muntapha Abas today ordered all revelations of alleged financial gains made by the DAP to be expunged from court records following objections from lawyers.

"The inquest should focus on Teoh's cause of death," he said.

Earlier MACC investigating officer Mohd Anuar Ismail informed the Teoh Beng Hock inquest on the details of investigations as a result of statements taken from Teoh.

Teoh was summoned to the Selangor MACC on July 15 to be a witness into a probe on alleged abuse of state allocation funds. His body was found the next day on the fifth floor landing of the building which hosts the state MACC. The inquest is being held to determine the cause of his death.

Questions on four invoices only

Earlier today, to questions posed by MACC lawyer Abdul Razak Muda, Mohd Anuar revealed certain alleged practices uncovered in the course of the investigations.

However, objections were raised against revealing these details by lawyers Salim Bashir, Gobind Singh Deo and Rajpal Singh. Salim is representing state exco member and Teoh's boss Ean Yong Hian Wah, Gobind appeared for Teoh's family while Rajpal is for the Bar Council.

Gobind accused Abdul Razak of turning the inquest into a corruption trial and using the forum "for publicity".

azlan He also objected to Abdul Razak submitting new evidence on seven companies allegedly involved in projects that were approved. He said that the agreement reached yesterday was for the MACC lawyer to submit invoices by four companies only.

Coroner Azmil however allowed Abdul Razak to question Mohd Anuar on the four invoices retrieved from Teoh's laptop.

Malaysiakini had earlier reported on the details given out by Mohd Anuar but has removed that part of his testimony after the expunge order was issued.

Teoh was arguing with Tan

Later, while continuing with his testimony, Mohd Anuar said that he was informed by another officer that MACC witness and DAP's Kajang municipal councillor Tan Boon Wah was seen arguing with Teoh at the MACC office at about 2am.

Mohd Anuar said the officer told him that the alleged argument had taken place at the men's room. Tan was also present at MACC on that night to be questioned.

The witness also explained to the coroner on why the commission conducted night interrogations - so that the interrogations do not interfere with the witnesses' day jobs.

He further added that some witnesses would not want to be seen at the MACC building in the day and pick night time to record their statement.

Mohd Anuar also gave his reasons for not lodging a police report immediately after finding Teoh's body. He said that he thought that the first person who found Teoh would have done so.
