A police report by member of parliament-cum-tycoon Tiong King Sing reveals how he allegedly gave MCA president Ong Tee Keat RM10 million as donation towards a political cause.

NONE He provided further details of the donation in his police report against Ong.

The report was lodged on Aug 26 at the Dang Wangi police station in Kuala Lumpur.

According to the police report, the money was delivered to Ong on three different occasions, amounting to RM5 million, RM1 million and RM4 million respectively.

Malaysiakini learnt about the details of the police report from reliable sources.

Tiong said in the report that he came to know Ong in Parliament. He added that on one occasion, some time after the March 2008 general election, Ong asked him for financial help in order to prepare for the next general election.

"Ong explained how the importance of MCA unity can win back the confidence of the Chinese community, NGOs and other races," said Tiong.

He had then agreed to donate RM5 million in cash to MCA

"Ong called me about the money and arranged for a meeting at the Petaling Jaya Hilton the next day," claimed Tiong in the report.

"Two boxes containing cash of RM5 million were in the booth of a car driven by Ong's friend."

However, the police report did not mention the specific date of this first money transfer and the name of Ong's friend.

'More money requested'

Tiong claimed that, on the second occasion a week later, Ong called him requesting for more money.

"I only managed to raise RM1 million and the cash was handed over to Ong's representative at the car park opposite Armada Hotel, Petaling Jaya."

Again, the report made no mention of specifics such as the time of the incident and name of the representative.
