'Our prayers go to Mrs Teoh and her family. Hope she has the will and courage to get through life for the sake of the late Teoh's baby.'
Teoh's wife: We were pawns
Tong Meng Wai: Dear Mrs Teoh, be strong and hold on to life. The sweetest moment will be when you are holding Teoh Junior in your arms. Stay strong to bring him up. I believe this also the desire of the late Mr Teoh. God bless you and Teoh Junior.
Victor Johan: Soh Cher Wei, amidst all this, I hope you do not submit to any pressures from Umno/BN or succumb to any money inducements. They are known to resort to such tactics to obtain whatever they want. Live with a conscience. Be a proud 'wife'/widow and a proud mother to the your coming baby. Life should go on, positively.
Loyal Malaysian : Pawns of who? The report is not explicit on this point. Perhaps she's privy to information we don't have. We see the DAP and the Pakatan Rakyat Selangor state government doing what's to be expected of them. Yes, a royal commission of inquiry should have been established but only Umno can do that. The MACC must be brought to account! Justice for Beng hock!
Anak Desa : Our prayers go to Mrs Teoh and her family. Hope she has the will and courage to get through life for the sake of the late Teoh's baby. It is not as easy as it seems but the late Teoh's family support is strong.
Gem : Happiness has been snatched from you, when there is still a long way to go. I can empathise. But the greatest gift to your husband is to bring up his child.
Malaysian : Be strong, my girl. The world is a colourful place. My own family is also behind you.
Thomas Foo: Mrs Teoh, your husband was not a pawn in a battle. He wanted to contribute to make Malaysia a better place for all, particularly his children. Have faith, Mrs Teoh. What's important now is to be strong and raise your child. May God bless you and your child.
A grain of truth in Hasan Ali's invective?
Leman: It's so weird, how people say BN is wrong by punishing a member for voicing his different views when the same thing happens in Pakatan Rakyat. Come on guys, Dr Hasan Ali has his views, give him a chance to voice them. I can't see anything wrong with his view except it differs from the others in Pakatan.
But to me it is wrong to us to ask him to quit from Pakatan just because of his different opinion. To do so (by asking him to quit), will make us no different than BN.
Chipmunk: Will this be the end of Pakatan and the new beginning for BN? Pakatan must look into this situation tactfully or you may end up like Perak. Your weakness exposed is another feather in BN's cap.
Geronimo: From the looks of it, Hasan Ali does not have the espirit d'corps in him. In fact, his Machiavellian attitude towards his colleagues in Pakatan leaves much to be desired.
There is nothing wrong in criticising members of Selcat if it is done with decorum but when he is hell bent in making life difficult for the panel members, then it is time for him to go.
Watchman: What Selcat has done is a warning to all civil servants to do the correct thing in future. With Transparency International reporting that billions of ringgit in bribes is being lost every year in Malaysia, we need a more honest and upright civil service.
Tan Cheng Leong: You can mitigate what he has done but it does not change the fact that what Selcat is doing is right. Please, vengeful, it is not. I have a voice as a rakyat and I demand to know what happened. Let's for once let our innocence prevail. Let's call a spade a spade and not something else.
Kiew Chong Hui: Why is the dignity of incompetent, or worse still corrupt officers, so important? At least they were accorded an open hearing where they should be able to explain themselves if they did no wrong.
It is time we should encourage more Selcat-style hearing on a regular basis to ensure civil servants be at least, civil servants. They should explain their actions to the public, in public.
'PAS should get rid of Hasan Ali'
P Dev Anand Pillai: It could be due to the fact that Selangor has the highest number of civil servants who are very closely linked to the former Umno government.
So what better way can there be then to rouse public sentiment by saying that these civil servants now feel humiliated by the questions that they have to answer from the Chinese-dominated DAP whose brainchild is the Selcat?
SameSame: Please leave, Hasan Ali. What Pakatan is doing is flushing all evil, good-for-nothing money-eating civil servants. That's called pro-active. If it's open inquiry, so be it. Why is he making noise? That's because he still with Umno at heart...
PT Tan : Anyone who thinks of himself and claim he is doing it for a silent majority without any data has no place in leadership roles, whether politics or otherwise. Heck, he or she is not even fit to lead a family if he does not place the needs of the children first, must less an organisation.
And we continue to toy with these people, trying to justify it in terms of the bigger picture. We should have the courage to put integrity first with conviction.
