Fugitive blogger Raja Petra Kamarudin has been granted yet another discharge not amounting to an acquittal for three criminal defamation charge.

azlan This is second such ruling handed down a Sessions Court this week.

This time KL Sessions judge Mohd Sekeri Mamat delivered the ruling after the prosecution informed him that Raja Petra and his wife Marina Lee Abdullah could not be located.

Mohamad Sekeri made the order as the warrant of arrest has yet to be served on the blogger who is charged with defaming the prime minister's wife Rosmah Mansor and two others.

Mohamad Sekeri also made the order as the show cause notice on bailor Marina has yet to served.

The warrant of arrest on Raja Petra was issued on May 26 and the case has been brought up for mention on two occasions. Today is the final mention of the case.

Raja Petra, who is represented by lawyer Amarjeet Singh, faces up to two years' jail and fine if convicted. Deputy Public Prosecutor Mohd Hafiz Mohd Yusoff prosecuted.

Raja Petra is alleged to have defamed Rosmah, her aide Lt-Colonel Norhayati Hassan and her husband Lt-Col Abdul Aziz Buyong, by implicating them in the murder of Altantuya Shaariibuu.

Missing since May

azlan Earlier this week, the Petaling Jaya Sessions Court Judge Rozina Ayub, in granting a discharge not amounting to an acquittal, had said it was most embarrassing for all parties concerned that the prosecution had failed to serve the warrant of arrest on Raja Petra, as a result of which a discharge had to be given and the case was left hanging and without an ending.

"This case cannot proceed. It's a pity because the prosecution had called seven witnesses," Rozina had said in granting the discharge.

The blogger who runs the Malaysia Today website has been missing since May this year.
