'Don't listen to the man who 'squandered' RM100 bil'

your say 'The more they print about Mahathir, the more you make him relevant. So stop it, he is history, He appeared on the 'History' channel. Is that not enough?'

Dr M sees nothing wrong with BTN courses

Mukris: Would Malaysians seriously listen to a man who had squandered RM100 billion of the rakyat's money and singlehandedly destroyed the very fabric of unity and harmony among its people? Not forgetting, totally demolishing the judiciary and other institutions during his regime? Are these two words really not in his vocabulary - 'keeping quiet'?

Tey Khang Fai: This Dr Mahathir Mahathir is really good. He gives a lot of problems to Umno and to the opposition. Really, doesn't he know what he wants in life? He has been a stumbling block to the nation's growth.

Freemsia: What does he mean that there is nothing wrong with BTN? There have been so many complains and negative feedback from those who attended these racist camps. Then again, I do not blame Mahathir for thinking that there is nothing wrong with BTN. After all, this guy is racist.

That Anwar Ibrahim wanting an Australian independent body to monitor the next general election has nothing to do with not trusting the Malays. It is because the Election Commission in this country is biased towards BN.

And about the GST, if the government really wants to have enough funds, then they should take action to curb the corruption that is bleeding the country dry. And stop spending on stupid ego-boosting projects and programmes. GST is taxing the rakyat just so that BN can continue their foolish spending ways and to support their corrupt practices.

Kamarul Abbas: This invitation to Australia to monitor our general elections is in response to their PM's statement that Malaysia is very democratic . It's actually a cynical invite. As for Mahathir's remark, what he meant was that Anwar Ibrahim shouldn't outdo him in trusting the 'white men'. Remember, Mahathir paid money to meet the 'white man'. That's how much he 'trusted' them.

Giri: Clearly, there are abuses in our elections. This is solely due to the Umno men. And I hope Mahathir realises that Anwar is blaming Umno, and not all Malays, for the unfair elections time and again.

Every time Umno is to be blamed, they quickly use the 'Malay victim' card. How silly are these people? It is such a joke.

Cks: Are some finding an excuse for Mahathir plundering the nation? That is what the Brits did during the era of colonialism and that is what colonialism was about. But to be plundered by our own people or so-called 'leaders'? That is despicable. And equating an invitation to be a general election observer to colonialism is really a dumb rationale.

Chuath: If we want an observer for our elections, we will have to get one who is unbiased and without any agenda and with a history in managing fair elections. Since everyone in this country has an agenda as far as elections are concerned, we will have to look a little further.

Australia is perhaps the nearest neighbour to fit the requirements and whether they accept or not, will probably depend on the influence of the person asking. Strange man, Mahathir. Where did he come from again? I hope all members of his family studied in Malaysia and were not sent to study in some white man's country.

Fair: We are all going in circles, 'we' meaning Malaysians. We have to stop, forget the past, it can never help the future, it's immaterial what people may say. We have to get the opposition leaders moving and make things change. It happened in the last general election, so we know it can happen.

But let's improve on it by taking away the fears of the others who did not believe. Those of you who voted the opposition, pressure them to work together and stop pursuing their own agenda for then they become no different from BN. In such a case, choices become limited.

If they preach good, and not the evil ways of the BN, then show it. Don't play around with sensational news and antics to make the people confused. Confusion does not change minds, instead it makes most feel fear and as such turn back to the people they know.

The more they print about Mahathir, the more you make him relevant. So stop it, he is history, He appeared on the 'History' channel. Is that not enough?

Habib RAK: Whenever Mahathir comments on something, all of us have to hold our breath. Sometimes he makes the most sensible comments, for example the Perak sultan cannot sack the menteri besar, Umno is corrupt to the core, criminalise war, etc.

At other times, he makes the most ridiculous comments. His comments on BTN and on Anwar's request for Australia to send observers are simply off the wall. What I have observed is that every time Anwar's name is mentioned, there is a fuse that goes off and all his following comments are purely illogical and nonsense.

I really feel the pain for Marina Mahathir and for all of us who still appreciate Tun for the good things he has done for the country. By the way Tun, please read this piece written by Mariam Mokhtar in Malaysiakini on BTN.

Please be an elder statesman and promote harmony for all Malaysians. You have openly admitted that you respect Nelson Mandela. Look at Mandela, he is always talking about peace and harmony and the world respects him.
