Kelantan's economy in bad shape, says Awang Adek
Just being able to collect RM34 million in taxes annually clearly shows that the Kelantan economy is in bad shape, said Deputy Finance Minister Awang Adek Hussin.
He said despite being rich in resources like gold, tin, oil and gas and good human capital, the PAS government in Kelantan had nothing to show in the 20 years it had been in power in the state.

He said despite being rich in resources like gold, tin, oil and gas and good human capital, the PAS government in Kelantan had nothing to show in the 20 years it had been in power in the state.
"Compare this to Perlis, a very small state which does not have much resources but is able to collect taxes amounting RM107 million annually," he told reporters after handing over cost of living allowance (Cola) for fishermen under the auspices of the Bachok Fishermen's Association in Kelantan today.
Some 500 members of the association received their monthly RM200 cola at the function. Also present was the Malaysian Fisheries Development Authority's Kelantan director, Ab. Llah Rashid.
