But Zul, non-Muslims too voted for you...

vox populi big thumbnail 'Zulkifli Noordin should have asked the EC to disregard the votes he had obtained from non- Muslims in the general election. He should have made it very clear he did not want their votes.'

Zul walks out of PKR disciplinary board

Thanabalan Gurusamy: Well then, if Zulkifli Noordin now wants a Muslim panel to hear his disciplinary case, then he should have asked the Election Commission to disregard the votes he had obtained from the non-Muslims in the election. He should have made it very clear to the non-Muslims during his election ‘ceramah' that he did not want their votes.

Adrian98: Why bother with him? Just tell him to leave. He is bound to keep on causing more trouble if he stays. He uses his religion to promote his own agenda. PKR does not need selfish religious bigots like him.

Ghkok: As far as I'm aware, the case before the PKR disciplinary board is about Zul's actions towards PAS member of parliament Khalid Samad (ie, filing a police report against him). This action towards a fellow member of Pakatan Rakyat who is also an MP and a party leader in PAS is, in the eyes of PKR members, patently unacceptable.

I don't think the case is about Zul's position on religion per se. So it is meaningless to talk about the board composition having to be totally Muslim. Having said that, I disagree with all those who get emotional and just ‘hentam' the guy. Stay calm, use logic and reasoning and let the PKR disciplinary board decide.

Lonestar: It is obvious that Zul wants to be sacked. He does not have the gumption to resign on his own. Hiding behind religion and insisting that he should only come before a Muslim panel shows how truly religious he is. Who is the one playing with his religion if not himself?

Cala: Zulkifli Noordin argues that as one of the charges against him relates to the 'Allah' issue, by extension it is a religious issue and he ought to be given a fair hearing by a Muslim disciplinary board.

If his logic makes sense, say the next time an illegally-built Hindu temple is asked to be relocated, the case must similarly be presided over by a Hindu panel. Does this not make sense?

Arul Inthirarajah: Sacking Zul would be too good. Wait for Pakatan to take over Putrajaya then send him as our ambassador to Afghanistan and locate the embassy in Helmand province. He would feel very much at home there.

Tan Kian Khim: Zulkifli thinks that the party and the people must answer to him instead of the other way around. His ego alone - let alone his bigotry - is big enough to qualify as one of Dr Mahathir Mohamad's mega-projects. Zulkifli has apparently forgotten - or chosen to forget - that PKR and Pakatan Rakyat were set up as an egalitarian, multiracial platform for all Malaysians. It does not matter what the composition of the disciplinary board is as long as it adheres to the core principles of the PKR platform.

If Zulkifli finds these egalitarian principles unpalatable to his bigoted worldview, perhaps he should join his ideological soul-mates in Perkasa. Ibrahim Ali should send him a pre-approved application form.

And Zul, don't forget to resign your MP seat when you jump: we elected a representative of PKR and Pakatan to the Kulim Bandar Baru seat, not Zul Noordin the person.

Kuala Kurau rep denies leaving PKR

Razman Abubakar: I am an independent voter not aligned to any faction whatever. I call myself a voter of conscience. I would like to see all those ‘independent' members of parliament should band (loosely) together and draw up a mission statement with the core being ‘we are the servants of the rakyat and any decision we make is to ensure that the rakyat shall be served and not any crony or cohort'.

Karma: As to these ‘frogs' or defectors, the only clear reason of leaving is simple - they are too lazy to serve the people and are selfish. The fashion is the same for all whether is Tan Tee Beng or Zahrain Hashim. Note that all of them said 'I', yes, ‘I' am not happy with the party leadership.

It is the voters who voted for PKR. They have to champion PKR's cause no matter what. Once they leave PKR or any party they were voted in from, they are cheaters of the people's democracy.

Cops investigate Guan Eng for sedition

Kgen: Umno's PDRM don't even make a pretense of upholding the law fairly. How many illegal demos involving Umno or Perkasa people have come and gone without a whimper from them? Maybe Umno is trying to take over Penang by using the police and their lapdog judiciary.

Tired: People, no need to get riled by the police action. Reports have been lodged so they need to investigate. Investigation does not mean it will result in prosecution. It could likely be an ‘NFA' case (no further action). Perhaps we can ask Tok Guru Nik Aziz Nik Mat to pray for Guan Eng and PAS supporters to hold a ‘sembahyang hajat'.

This will be the strongest show of solidarity and a swim-or-sink endorsement from PAS to DAP. It is not fair to ask PKR for help at this juncture as they already have a lot on their plate to resolve.

Louis: Stop harassing the opposition. They are doing a good job in fighting corruption and abuse of power. We have eyes that can see and we can see that the police are practicing double standards

Rayfire: To all true and sincere policemen out there in the force, how long are you going to remain silent and let this inspector-general of police shatter the reputation of the force with his consistent harassment of relatively innocent leaders. There are many bigger crooks and culprits out there wrecking the nation so please attend to them first.

Please do not degrade yourselves. I am sure there must be some good souls in the police force still left and you must to safeguard the honour of this nation. Return it to its glory!

Musa denies police in cahoots with BN

Ahmad Iqhbal: This has to be the number one nomination for the funniest thing anyone has said in Malaysia ever. But seriously, rule one - deny, rule two - deny, rule three - deny, rule four - see rule one.

Yobama: Musa Hassan, the people are not saying the PDRM is in cahoots with just any party, they are saying it is in cahoots with BN! Notwitstanding what Musa says, the actual happenings on the ground point towards that accusation. The vast majority of leaders being persecuted seem to come from the Pakatan side. There is no doubt about that.

Do we have to list them here? LGE (Lim Guan Eng), DSAI (Anwar Ibrahim), Tian Chua, you name it! How many BN leaders are being harassed? Hardly any.

Wira: If you tell a lie to yourself repeatedly, you will gradually believe it to be the truth. Tan Sri, you are being brainwashed by your own lies.

Eugene : Oh come on, action speaks louder than words. Judging by all their actions so far, the truth is deafening!
