Maha exhibit not a Hulu S'gor gimmick: Noh
Agriculture and Agrobased Industry Minister Noh Omar today refuted an allegation by the opposition that the mini Malaysian Agriculture, Horticulture and Agrotourism Show (MAHA) being held in Kuala Kubu Baru was connected with the coming Hulu Selangor parliamentary by-election.
He said the programme was held to forge closer rapport between the people and officers from the ministry, besides provide information for new entrepreneurs to venture into agriculture activities.

He said the programme was held to forge closer rapport between the people and officers from the ministry, besides provide information for new entrepreneurs to venture into agriculture activities.
"The mini-MAHA programme had been planned much earlier and Hulu Selangor had been chosen as the host," he told a media conference at the opening of the programme here tonight.
Noh also said an international-level MAHA exhibition would be held in
November which would involve the participation of Australia, New Zealand and 28 European countries.
"We are targetting two million visitors to the MAHA exhibition in November," he added.
At the function, allocation totalling RM6.4 million was distributed to the
agriculture players, including RM190,000 for those involved in rehabilitation of abandoned ponds, RM15,000 for pineapple growers and RM10,000 to livestock breeders.
