The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) is willing to meet private detective P. Balasubramaniam either in Malaysia or foreign embassies to record his statement.

NONE MACC in a statement said Balasubramaniam ( left ) must give his statement to enable the commission so that investigations into the murder of Mongolian model Altantuya Shaariibuu could be completed.

"We have already recorded statements from witnesses, including from the Prime Minister's brother Nazim Tun Razak," said MACC in the statement today.

On July 3, 2008, Balasubramaniam made a statutory declaration pertaining to the murder of Altantuya but retracted the statement the next day, negating the first, and subsequently went missing with his family.

His present whereabouts are unknown as the MACC was not able to track him down.

"With Balasubramaniam's failure to give his statement to the MACC, we cannot complete the case as comprehensive investigations cannot be carried out," said MACC in the statement.
