All MCA branches in Hulu Selangor must be responsible in ensuring that the party's 8,000 registered members come out to vote for the Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate in the by-election for the Hulu Selangor parliamentary seat on April 25.

Party president Dr Chua Soi Lek said all the MCA branches had been given the list of voters and their polling district to facilitate them in tracking down the voters.

"We must ensure that every MCA member numbering 8,000 who are also voters in the constituency come out and vote for the BN candidate.

"We have circulated the list of branch names and the polling districts so that every MCA branch has certain responsibilities to ensure that every member come out to vote," he told reporters after speaking at the 'Searching for MCA Voters to Vote BN' at the Hulu Yam Baharu town last night.

Also present were party secretary-general Kong Cho Ha and Selangor MCA liaison chairman Datuk Donald Lim.

Dr Chua said the MCA was also intensifying efforts to trace party members outside the area who were registered voters to return and cast their votes.

He said that for this purpose, every family member must play their role in ensuring that family members and relatives returned home to vote for the BN candidate.

On the BN chances of winning, Dr Chua said he was confident that voters in the area had been prepared to make a change as the previous elected representative had not brought any change.
