Crossovers: BN doing what Pakatan has prescripted

vox populi small thumbnail 'Crossover is wrong. Pakatan has just gave BN, especially Umno, the excuse to do what they are very capable of doing.'

Bakar Arang state rep quits PKR

Multi Racial: A lot got to do with ‘what goes around comes around'. Anwar Ibrahim started this crossover game and I was against it from the start. Crossover is wrong. You just gave BN, especially Umno, the excuse to do what they are very capable of doing.

These are elected representatives who don't have what it takes to be good people representatives. They are there because they want to know what is in for them. Malaysians should make sure such people will never get to represent the people again.

As for Anwar and Pakatan Rakyat, especially PKR , you better get your act together. Start the selection process for the next general elections. We want those "clean" and sincere in representing the people selected.

Second, no more this nonsense of crossovers. If Pakatan comes to power, we want them to change the law so that such crossovers are not allow. They have to resign and call for snap election. This will be helpful to get rid of opportunists.

Tan Kian Khim: No surprises - Tan Wei Shu's impending defection was predicted nearly a year ago (not long after Umno-BN's illegal coup d'etat in Perak) but he must have been instructed by his Umno paymasters to lay low until an opportune time to jump.

Drop the pretense of holding the moral high ground, Tan Wei Shu - if you had even a shred of integrity, you would have resigned from the state assembly seat instead of becoming an Umno-puppeteered 'independent'. Instead, you have sold out your principles, the party, and most importantly, the people - all for a few unclean ringgit.

Remember that the people do not take kindly to politicians who betray the people's mandate. You cannot take the ringgit with you when you leave this world, but your black name remains forever.

KJ continues to drive wedge between Zaid, Azmin

Beetle: Maybe we should ask Khairy Jamaluddin to put the BN house in order first before he make any comment on PKR. Stop using the divide-and-rule tactics. We know you learn it from Mahathir Mohamad. Maybe you would like to let us know how you felt when Mukhriz was chosen over you for a cabinet post in spite of you winning the Umno Youth post.

KJ, you have created history by being the first Umno Youth head being left out of the cabinet. You must be very unhappy with Najib and Mahathir, right? Of course, you are "selfless" and "would work and unite the Umno Youth". So have you been successful so far?

Maslina: It is a known fact that Azmin Ali hates Zaid Ibrahim's guts. Remember the whole ruckus about Zaid and Sabah earlier this year? Everyone knows it was Azmin's doing. He will not yield the position of being Anwar's successor to anyone else.

In his mind, he's sacrificed most for Anwar. Even kicked former party Youth chief Ezam Mohd Nor out of party. Also he wants to kick Syed Husin Ali out. KJ is only saying what everyone already knows.

Goat: The Umno Youth leader seem to be overlooked and bypassed, so he is trying his best to be noticed, but alas he is still invisible.

Stop labelling Hindraf as 'racist'

Kgen: Kua Kia Soong should read Hindraf's 18-point memorandum and tell us whether Hindraf is racist or not. Not only are they racist, they are also extremists. It is fine to highlight a community's problems but when they are too demanding, they become racists.

Hindraf wants RM100 billion for Tamil schools over five years, RM100 billion for Indian affirmative programme over five years, RM150 billion compensation for Hindu temples, compensation for every poor Indian, etc. Not only that, they want 20 percent of top-level civil service reserved for Indians. Is the whole country just for Indians only?

What are they going to do with RM100 billion for Tamil schools, install solid gold taps in the toilets and deep pile carpets in the classrooms? I leave it to Kua to tell us whether their demands are reasonable or racist. Here's the link .

Charley: We can disagree with Hindraf's demands and regard them as "excessive", but you can't brand them as "racists" just because their demands are restricted to Indians. If they demand for themselves and at the same time restrict/condemn others (Malay and Chinese) fighting for their interests then may be you can call them racists.

Most importantly, we must assess if Hindraf's fight for the Indian minority is justified or not. Are the Indian plights genuine? Are they not neglected and oppressed as a community in Malaysia? Hindraf leaders are racists if they condemn people based on race, but they are not racists merely because they speak up for their people.

In the case of Kampung Puah Pala, where Lim Guan Eng did play the racial card to isolate Hindraf from the Penang Chinese, this has resulted in Hindraf's withdrawal of support for Pakatan which is highly regrettable.

'Slick Muhyi' gains currency

Ong: Those familiar with Muhyiddin's political history will not subscribe to the notion that "Muhyiddin Yassin is fast becoming Barisan Nasional's slickest campaigner."

He has always been slick and ruthless. He started his Umno membership in Pagoh (Johor) division when Othman Saat was division head and all-powerful MB Johor. Othman was his mentor.

He was always ambitious and when Othman had a fallout with the sultan and lost his MB post in 1982, then young Muhyiddin saw an opportunity to climb the Umno ladder and showed his ruthlessness by immediately initiating plans to oust his erstwhile mentor. At the very next Umno elections, he easily succeeded in defeating Othman for the Pagoh Umno division head's post.

Anyone who thinks he is just starting to be a slick campaigner is mistaken. I am pretty sure that this past few years, he has been covertly and cunningly putting in his stakes for the PM post. One wrong move by Najib and the dagger goes in, if necessary even from behind.
