Wee upset over reports, mum over defection
PKR lawmaker Wee Choo Keong had harsh words for Malaysiakini over reports speculating his departure from the party, calling them “lies” and “wild allegations”.
PKR lawmaker Wee Choo Keong had harsh words for Malaysiakini over reports speculating his departure from the party, calling them “lies” and “wild allegations”.
However, he stopped short of addressing the
rumours
that he will be defecting in a wake of four fellow PKR parliamentarians who left the party fold since February this year.
“Initially, I was supposed to resign (as speculated) soon after the resignation of the three MPs, (Zahrain Mohd Hashim, Tan Tee Beng and Mohsin Fadzli Samsuri).
“When these wild allegations were proven to be completely false, new wild allegations surfaced in the news portal that I was supposed to resign on nomination day of the Hulu Selangor by-election,” he said.
Party's little 'Napoleons'
In a strongly-worded press release aimed at this news portal, he also accused Malaysiakini of erroneously reporting PKR supreme council member S Manikavasagam as saying that another PKR MP is expected to leave the party.
“Last night, I checked with Manikavasagam about this particular quote in the said report, he categorically denied having that said in the ceramah in Ampang Pecah.
“However, he did say in the same ceramah that all MPs have the right to resign from the party, including himself, if the MPs feel that they no longer share the same directions of the party,” charged Wee.
Wee also claimed that it was the “little Napoleons” in PKR who have been feeding inaccurate information about him to the media to give the impression that he was to resign.
“ Malaysiakini should wake up and not be made a fool of by irresponsible and insecure persons,” he said.
