Four Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) officers paid a ‘visit' to Kapar member of Parliament S Manikavasagam this morning following allegations of corruption in state-owned mining company Kumpulan Semesta Sdn Bhd (KSSB).

During their 45-minute ‘visit' beginning 10.30am at Manikavasagam's office in Kapar, the parliamentarian said the MACC officials requested for his cooperation and the surrender of documents relevant to the case.

Manikavasagam (right) , however, said he declined to cooperate with the MACC as he "does not trust them."

"How can I trust the MACC, when a lot of cases are still pending investigation and unfinished. Especially with the (death) of Teoh Beng Hock," said the former Selangor PKR liaison committee deputy chairman.

Reportedly, Manikavasagam said that senior KSSB officials are engaged in many corrupt practices and that it should be eradicated immediately by the Menteri Besar Khalid Ibrahim.

He was also reportedly to have given a 72-hour warning in his blog to Khalid to take immediate action against the officers involved, before he revealed their names.

Names will be revealed tomorrow

When asked why the session with the MACC took a long time, Manikavasagam said:  "I was arguing with them because (I did not want to cooperate)."

He said that he is ready to face the consequences, including the possibility of receiving a warrant as a result of his refusal to give full cooperation to the commission.

Meanwhile, Manikavasagam said that he will make a police report on the latest controversy involving the Selangor government at the Klang police station tomorrow morning.

"Tomorrow I will submit all the documents and reveal the names of the three officers involved (in the alleged KSSB fraud)." he said.

Yesterday, Selangor Menteri Besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim (left) asked Manikavasagam to disclose the names of the KSSB officers who were corrupt and to immediately lodge a police report so that the government can take actions against them.
