breaking news Kapar MP S Manikavasagam found his two cars splashed with red paint this morning, purportedly in retaliation to his threat to expose corruption involving a Selangor-owned sand mining company.

NONE Manikavasagam told Malaysiakini the act took place at his home in Meru, using three plastic bags containing red paint.

One of the plastic bags contained a note which read: “Jangan campur isu pasir. U mati.” (Don’t get involved in the sand issue. U die).

He believes that the attack took place sometime between 4.00am and 7.30am this morning.

“My family is quite shaken up. I’ve been in politics for 10 years; there has been some threats but nothing quite like this. They are coming for my home and my family,” he said.

NONE He also revealed that for three days in a row since May 12, he has been receiving threatening phone calls late at night telling him to drop the sand mining issue.

Manikavasagam, in a police report last week, accused top officials in Kumpulan Semesta Sdn Bhd (KSSB), owned by Selangor Menteri Besar Incorporated, of corrupt practices.

KSSB promptly issued a denial and demanded for an apology, but Manikavasagam is sticking to his guns.

“No one can stop me or threaten me. If you have guts, come see me. Fight me in court. Don’t disturb my family,” he said.

However, the PKR supreme council member has refused to speculate on who is behind the threats, saying, “Let the police investigate.”

A police forensics team along with  Klang district police chief Mohamad Mat Yusop were at the MPs house this morning to investigate.

Meanwhile, acting Selangor CID chief ACP Omar Mammah told Bernama that preliminary investigation shows that more than one person was involved in the incident.

He said that the matter is being investigated under Section 427 for committing mischief and thereby causing damage to the amount of RM25 and Section 507 criminal intimidation by an anonymous communication, both under the Penal Code.
