The police today reminded the people not to attend a seminar organised by the DAP in Kuching on Saturday because they have not issued a permit for it as the venue was regarded as inappropriate for the event.
Kuching police chief ACP Mun Kok Kiong said the organiser had been informed that its application for a permit to convene a "Land & Rakyat" seminar at a restaurant in the BDC commercial centre had not been approved.
"The police wrote to the organiser advising a switch to a more appropriate venue," he told reporters in Kuching.
Mun said the police felt that holding the seminar at the venue would disrupt public order and traffic flow.
He warned that the police would act against the organiser if it went ahead with the event at that venue.
