PKR president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail has warned Senator Ezam Mohd Noor that he will face legal action if he tries to drag her into accusations concerning her husband Anwar Ibrahim.
Wan Azizah (

) was referring to Ezam’s interview with online portal
Agenda Daily
, where he claimed he once received Wan Azizah’s instructions over the phone telling him to keep Anwar away from certain individuals.
According to the report, Ezam said, “Wan Azizah urged me, that night, not to leave the house as long as that boy was at the house... to ensure that Anwar would not be left alone with him.”
The alleged telephone conversation took place while Wan Azizah was in Washington and Anwar was in his former home in Bukit Damansara during a break from his lecturing stint.
Wan Azizah said that Ezam’s claim was pure slander, and that he made it with the sole intention of justifying his relevance to Umno leaders.
“Ezam is intentionally making up stories after rejoining Umno, and not before,” she said in a statement today.
Wan Azizah said that there was no stopping Ezam’s “political lust” such that he was even willing to slander a mother and wife.
According to the Agenda Daily article, Ezam ( left ) maintained his stand and challenged Wan Azizah to take a religious oath.
Ezam was formerly PKR Youth chief and was one of Anwar’s right hand men when the latter was in the federal government.
In May 2008, Ezam rejoined Umno and has since made regular attacks on Anwar at various ceramah during by-elections and recently during Selangor Umno’s ‘Save Selangor’ campaign.
