Several individuals have been identified in the video footage from the “spy camera” found in the Selangor menteri besar’s office early last month.

At a press conference in Shah Alam today, political secretary to the menteri besar Faekah Husin said those identified were working on the same floor as the menteri besar’s office at the state secretariat building.

“From our internal investigations, there are several faces and voices that can be identified from the video footage. (But) we don’t intent to delve into details (now),” she said.

“Some are supposed to be there, some are not supposed to be there.”

However, Faekah said that the task force could not determine at this point if those depicted in the video were responsible for the installation of the camera.

The task force established to probe the spy camera issue , led by Faekah, will meet Menteri Besar Khalid Ibrahim tomorrow to decide on its next course of action.

Faekah NONE ( right ) said the task force required the green light from Khalid before it could begin quizzing those identified in the video footage.

"If we were to solve this, we'll need to question them to find out who their political masters are,” she said.

She said preliminary investigations have led the team to conclude that those behind the installation of the spy camera in the MB's office were trying to be politically “ nakal ” (naughty).

Cops 'shocked' at lax security

She believed that those responsible for the camera may be Khalid's political opponents and the matter may be resolved through a "political way".

She also revealed that she met with three police officers this morning, and confirmed that no police probe had been initiated because no report had been lodged.

Khalid had earlier said that the taskforce would complete its investigations before handing the matter over to the police.

According to Faekah, the meeting with the police this morning involved discussions on how to enhance security at Khalid’s office.

"The police had done physical inspection (and suggested) that the menteri besar’s office should enhance its security system. They thought that the current security system is quite loose.

"The police was quite shocked when we told them we didn't make changes to the security system including the camera, officers and guard.

"This is because we don't want to suspect anybody but only now we find out that we should be more careful in the future,” she said.

She added that the police would submit their proposals to enhance the security system in a day or two.
