Khir Toyo: I don't want to be MB again

YF: I'm not sure which party you (Dr Mohd Khir Toyo) belong to. It's obvious you are now the greatest asset for Pakatan Rakyat because each time you open your mouth, you make yourself sound so foolish that the rakyat will hate Umno and BN even more.

Umno and BN should consider you a liability and it would be suicide for them to put you as MB again.

After all, Umno and BN lost Selangor because of you and the late Zakaria Mat Deros (former Port Klang state representative). Mat Deros reaped what he sowed. Yours is not too far away.

Satinah Osman: This is the typical arrogance of BN and Umno politicians, which has also crept into the civil service and the security forces - to think that the rakyat of Selangor will ever forget the amount of looting and mischief that this man did and who even destroyed official records when he found that his ouster was near and complete.

Thuey: Maybe if Khir Toyo try to place more loyalty towards the country rather than the party, he will see things from a different perspective. Serve the people rather than the leader is what he should strive to do. There is a difference between a loyal person and a loyal patriot. As a representative of the people, he should be aware of this fundamental principle.

Kunta Kinte: At least Khir admitted that he is responsible for losing Selangor to Pakatan. But any real leader would have resigned from holding any position, including being an opposition leader. The fact is, Umno does not even pick him in the party election, so whether he wants to be an MB again or not, is irrelevant. There is no need to pretend that you are still wanted.

Harrisman: His logic is illogical. If he thinks he did so well in government and that the rakyat thought so well of him during his term, he must run for MB and prove his point. If he wins, yes, he can talk 10 times bigger than what he is talking now.

Saying that he did well and the current government damage the state government, smells strongly of sour grapes and cowardice.

Multi Racial: The problem with the BN government is that they think they can get away with anything they said. No, you can't this time. As for the MB post, correction. No, we do not want you to be our MB. In fact, we do not want you to represent anyone in this country. Shame on you.

Q&A: 'I deserve more perks than I got'

Wira: Every BN/Umno MB before Khir Toyo was paid for heading PKNS without even having to discuss the payment at board level. How can this be happening?

It is common sense that the remunerations of all directors must be tabled before the board through a resolution and have that approved by the board. This is also a legal requirement. Khir Toyo cannot claim to be just following past practices without question.

PlsSaveMalaysia: This is a very typical argument from people on the take. They justify their act by "been under paid", "lots of personal sacrifices", "made a lot more money for the country", "others also get it", etc.

Can't blame him, he was just a humble student of all the great thieves like President Chen, Suharto, Marcos, etc.

NEM-style resistance not anticipated for ETP

Ramakrishnan: An ETP written by experts can never convince people on the ground. Idris Jala and his experts can draw out the best plan, but come implementation, NGOs like Perkasa will trash it like what they did to the NEM (New Economic Model). Umno politicians have no guts to say no to racism and bigotry.

Dood: Forgive my cynicism, but decades of lies, false promises and mismanagement by Umno/BN have left me not hopeful of any ‘solution' they propose. My feelings on this ETP can easily be summed up by this: "NEP by any other name would smell as foul".
