'Why the kid gloves treatment for Perkasa?'

your say 'Don't get me wrong, I have no objections to the Perkasans showing their displeasure with Namewee. I'm pointing to the double standards employed by the security wing of the Umnoputras.'

Perkasa torches Namewee's poster outside KLSCAH

Albert: As far as I am concerned, Perkasa is very dangerous to the country. When I read the news, I was extremely upset. This is a case of Perkasa becoming arrogant and a threat to national security, with the support of the Umno-led government and the authorities.

How can the police condone such actions and behaviour which threaten racial harmony and promote racial hatred? Where is the new IGP (inspector-general of police) who has pledged his best for the country? Can the minority races (i.e. Indians, Chinese) do the same to protest against the two racist principals?

Zana: To be totally honest and frank, Namewee is not much different from Ibrahim Ali. They are both racists and vulgar. They deserve each other.

Anonymous: Zana, Namewee is not in the same class as Ibrahim Ali. In fact, far from it. Let's use a simple metaphor. If someone comes up to you and call your mother a hooker, would you remain calm or would you take up an issue with the person?

Namewee, on all accounts, is merely reacting to an aggravation. Ibrahim Ali, on the other hand, is a provocateur and is causing social unrest when opportunity presents itself.

Namewee, who is just a young man and an ordinary entertainer, once said, "I am so alone" fighting racism, whereas Ibrahim Ali has the support of the people in power, a gang of supporters numbering hundreds of thousands and even the likes of Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

There is simply no comparison between both men and it is wrong to put them in the same boat.

Zana: Yes, Mr Anonymous, the victim and numbers arguments. Heard and read about it. Trust history, we'll go nowhere from there. The point is, they are both racists and vulgar. They contribute to nothing but trouble for every peace, truth and justice loving people. They only serve their own interests and skewed mind. They deserve each other and do not deserve Malaysia.

Anonymous2: A word of advice to Namewee. I don't know much about what you have been saying because to be honest, I deplore the use of foul language. But I do believe that you understandably have something to protest about, and people are listening. But more people would listen and support you if you wised up and took a more mature approach to your protest. Drop the profanity.

Obscene language may be cool amongst your peers, but it does not impress the older generation and I think you are looking to get your message across to everyone. Show the world that you may be young in years, but you are wiser, more logical and certainly better mannered than those barbarians who are out to get you.

Loyal Malaysian: Candlelight vigils are baton-charged and the peaceful participants are roughed up. Don't get me wrong, I have no objections to the Perkasans showing their displeasure with Namewee. I'm pointing to the double standards employed by the security wing of the Umnoputras.

Voice: If Pakatan Rakyat, or any NGO except Perkasa, want to demonstrate or have a peaceful gathering, all will fail. This is because the police will do everything to stop it. They will even prevent the gathering or demonstration from starting. If you proceed with the gathering, you will be given no mercy. Even if you run into the shopping complex, they won't let you go. They will go after you even if it is just a peaceful candlelight vigil.

But when it comes to Perkasa and the burning of posters, etc, the police will do nothing. This is the reason why the police force is an organisation that will always be condemned and never be respected by the people. The accusation that they only serve their political master is definitely true and fair.

Fido Dido: This is truly an illegal gathering. Why is the police so patient with Perkasa? Why are the protestors not arrested? This is double standard. If this demonstration is allowed, there will be bigger gathering to come.

Anonymous3: The home minister has gone into hiding, leaving the unruly racist mob from Perkasa to disrupt and prevent Namewee from making his point on racism, and that includes the mob themselves.

RubyStar: Dear PM, this is the initial budding of a nascent soon-to-be terrorist organisation. The seeds of racism, hatred, religious fanaticism, ‘ketuanan Melayu', Malays-against-other-races, disharmony, their-religion-against-all-other-religion, power grabbing and displacement of citizens' rights and freedom have been planted by Perkasa's Ibrahim Ali and nurtured by TDM (Tun Dr Mahathir), who has the political will as well as the money and the support of his cronies to fund all these activities.

We implore you to act decisively before it gets out of hand and this group becomes stronger, more ultra, bolder and more fanatic. If you don't come down hard on them now, you are acknowledging that TDM is still the king without the crown.

It is really a shame that a past PM will go to this length to support such an ultra-rightist group, playing and stoking the fire of racism. While the two perpetrators who uttered racist remarks got off scot-free, Namewee who raps on the issue, has been the target from this Perkasa group.

Anonymous4: Perkasa and Ibrahim Ali can congratulate themselves. They and their watchdog Umno have done a bang-up job in making Namewee even more of a hero. Good show, Ibrahim. You, your master TDM and Umno, have all worked very hard to make Namewee's fan-base become even mightier.

Are you feeling proud of yourselves or are you kicking your posteriors really hard? You are the best PR strategists that Namewee has.

MySecret: I would like to thank Perkasa for keeping to their true selves. Their demonstration has definitely brought home that point and that the attendees of the Youth Summit can witness first-hand the ugly face of racism. I'm sure the attendees knows who to vote for in the next general election.
