The prosecution, defence and Shah Alam Sessions Court judge Latifah Mohd Tahar will have a clearer picture of the Proton Iswara driven by shooting victim Aminulrasyid Amzah, for the car will be brought to the court compound tomorrow for their closer look.

NONE This is to facilitate chemist Saari Desa to explain the path of the slug retrieved from the head of the 15-year-old ( below ).

The slug was recovered by a forensic pathologist from the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital in Klang.

Earlier, Saari testified that after examining the two Heckler and Koch HK MP 5 submachine guns used by the police that had been submitted as evidence, he could not determine from which weapon the killer slug had originated from.

This afternoon, Saari told the court that the weapon could have been fired from a short distance of three metres. He also said he found 32 bullet holes on the ill-fated car.

The witness, who is the head of the firearms and detection unit of the Chemistry Department, said some of the bullets were retrieved from the car, which had been damaged by the shots.

"The car was brought in on May 5, 2010, and I inspected it until May 21, 2010. The fatal bullet, was fired from behind, at a shooting angle of 13 degrees to the left. It struck the rear windscreen and went through the head-rest of the driver's seat," Saari said, adding that gunpowder residue was not detected on the rear windscreen.

Besides the fatal shot, the 31 other bullet holes detected were:

  • Eight bullet holes on the back of the car;
  • Four on the right side of the back of the car;
  • Two on the left side at the rear of the car;
  • Two in the car exhaust;
  • Three in the fuel tank;
  • Six holes at the bottom of the car,; and
  • Six bullet holes in the tyres.
The witness explained that the shots on the back of the car had also struck the spare tyre.

Other significant damage

Saari also testified that there was other significant damage to the car as a result of it hitting other vehicles or a tree or even concrete.

"There is a mark on the left side, and also on the left of the front bumper. The damage is consistent with the car hitting a concrete, or road divider or a drain."

"There are also marks on the right side, consistent with it grazing a motorcycle handle, and a dent on the left side, consistent with hitting another wheeled vehicle, probably a car," he said.

Saari said he found blue paint on the left side dent, denoting the possibility of the Iswara striking another car.

Eyewitness had reported that Aminulrasyid's vehicle grazed a motorcycle and struck another car, which caused the police to give chase.

NONE Saari also told the court that he found two bullet jackets, one on the rear, right door and another near the carpet in the boot at the rear.

He also found four slugs near the spare tyre, one more at the rear left tyre and two slugs on the carpet in the boot.

"I did not conduct tests on the slugs as they were badly damaged and were not suitable to be used for comparison," he said.

Corporal Jenain Subi, 48 ( left ), is charged under Section 304(a) of the Penal Code, with culpable homicide not amounting to the murder of Aminulrasyid, at Jalan Tarian 11/2, Section 11, Shah Alam, between 1.10am and 2am on April 26, 2010.
