Independent parliamentarian Zulkifli Noordin has urged the Home Ministry to probe into the possibility that the father of the boy involved in the problematic ‘pork caning’ case may have two identities.

Yesterday, the Kulim Bandar Baru MP stirred up a storm when he alleged that the boy who was caned for bringing fried rice with pork sausages to school is the son of a Muslim who goes by the name of Norazman Abdullah @ Beginda anak Minda.

zulkifli noordin He also insinuated that Beginda could be an “apostate” as he has been claimed to have two different names.

At a press conference at the Parliament lobby today, Zulkifli ( left ) referred to a blog posting that detailed Beginda’s political involvement.

“Beginda who said to be the father of the boy... in 1998 during the case of Anwar (Ibrahim), his name Norazman Abdullah @ Beginda Minda. (He is) Islam.

“The marriage certificate was it released on July 29, 2009 when the marriage (took place on) December 25, 1999 which means in a year after Anwar’s case, when he (Beginda) was Muslim.

“On the day of wedding (coincidently also) Christmas, he was known as Beginda Anak Minda, married with Angela, and was identified to have no religion from the boy’s birth certificate, (he was born on May 8, 2000 and he used the Beginda and it is also stated no religion,” said Zulkifli.

He argued that Beginda, who also allegedly contested under the PKR ticket in the 1999 and 2004 general elections, at that time filed his candidacy as a Muslim.

Moreover, he stressed that a check with the Election Commission’s (EC) website on Beginda’s candidate registration showed he went by the name Norazman Abdullah.

“When we run for elections, we have to give our identity card (IC). Means that the EC wrote his name down as Norazman Abdullah but these two documents (the birth and marriage certificates) don’t use this name,” he said.

He pointed out that the crux of the matter was the “serious question” of two different identities.

“Does this mean he has two ICs? Do you have official documents that have other names?

“If that is the fact, then something is seriously wrong with the registration process. How can someone have two identities that are different and we must investigate if the application forms given to the EC are correct,” he said.

‘I didn’t approach Kuala Selangor to hurt him’

On a related matter, Zulkifli also refuted reports that he left his seat to pursue Dzulkefly Ahmad (PAS-Kuala Selangor) to further heckle him.

NONE Dzulkefly ( right ) was thrown out of the House after a verbal tiff over the caning of the 10-year-old, and the Independent MP had accused PAS of condoning Muslims to consume pork.

“I want to set things straight here regarding last night’s incident, over which reports said that I had got up from my seat to head towards Dzulkefly. this is not true. Kuala Selangor (Dzulkefly) was asked to go out.

“The bailiff took him to the main door but Dzulkefly turned and headed towards me and looked like he was going to attack me. During his progress, he was taunting me. Many people saw this, including Bung Mokhtar Radin (BN-Kinabatangan).

“When he came close, he taunting me, threatening to take off my kopiah (skull cap) and (utttered) ‘I will fix you, I will take you on’.

“I then went towards him and told him to be patient. This was democracy, but he got angry... that was why I got up from my seat,” he added.
