“They are alleging that nearly all the decisions made by the state committee over the past two years were wrong,” he said in his opening speech at the 16th Selangor DAP state ordinary convention at the Sunway International Convention Centre.

“I want to ask them, especially those who have government posts, regardless of whether it is high or low, exco or councillor, speaker or village chief; are the party appointments wrong?

“There are also those who said they want to revamp the state committee, especially the elected representatives. This statement is disappointing and will split our party,” he said.

Ean Yong is a member of the Unity team headed by Selangor executive councillor Teresa Kok and made up of incumbent state committee members, state assemblypersons and MPs.

NONE Over the course of the campaign over the past few weeks, Teng’s Rainbow team, that includes Sekinchan assemblyperson Ng Suee Lim, and that has the support of sacked senior leader Tee Boon Hock, had been accused of running a smear campaign against its rival.

The claims against the Rainbow team went so far as to accuse them of promising grassroots posts and even the opportunity to contest in the next general elections.

Teng ( right ) and his team has however kept a dignified silence, until last Friday when the two factions held their respective dinner showdowns, when the state assembly speaker finally unveiled his 12-member team and told the delegates that it is all or bust for the Rainbow team.
