As much as it pains women's groups to note the media's sexist portrayal of women, the fact remains that while the press is to be blamed for its gender-insensitive attitude in reporting news, equal if not more blame must be shared by the women's groups in this country for being passive and letting government agencies which humiliate women, off the hook.
