Teoh Beng Hock’s wife Sor Cher Wei has agreed to be interviewed by psychiatrists, the royal commission of inquiry into the death of the political aide announced today.

The commission has appointed three psychiatrists to interview witnesses, as well as Teoh’s acquaintances and family members, ‘to establish his state of mind’ prior to his death.

teoh beng hock fiancee soh sher wei to ipd kajang 2207709 01 In a statement issued by commission secretary Saripuddin Kasim, Sor (left in photo) has agreed to the interview being conducted at her home in Malacca.

However, she has set two conditions:

1. That the entire interview must be recorded on video camera

2. That her counsel must be present during the session

Saripuddin said the RCI had contacted Teoh’s brother, Meng Kee, yesterday.

“He (Meng Kee) said that all discussions on this matter must go through the family’s lawyer Gobind Singh Deo,” said Saripuddin.

Sor had been engaged to Teoh at the time of his death, and the couple were scheduled to register their marriage on July 17, 2009. Sor was then pregnant with their first child.

However, Teoh was found dead on July 16 on the fifth-floor service corridor of Plaza Masalm, Shah Alam.

He had been questioned overnight as a witness on Level 14, where the Selangor Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has its office.
