The more Anwar is pilloried, the harder he fights
'The latest sex video episode has lend Anwar more credibility than it was intended. The shift in the onus of truth stays with BN than the accused.'
Umno bent on pulling Anwar down by the pants
Anonymous_408d: There is a fast growing belief that Anwar Ibrahim is being framed, that Umno and BN are behind the "creation" of the video, its extremely suspicious "discovery", and its subsequent extremely convenient "screening" (for which, very strangely, there apparently is no "law", which apparently means "no offence" has been committed).
Secondly, whoever is behind this latest conspiracy has, yet again, failed to read the mood of the rakyat. So if it is Umno or whoever, or whatever, they should take the spin doctor behind this pathetic plot, and throw him over a cliff, or at least bash the idiot to kingdom come - all figuratively speaking of course.
Then they should kick themselves over and over and over again in their collective butts, for having seriously miscalculated just how this was going to turn out.
Ablastine: The BN government is playing a silly game. Anwar may be a catalyst but certainly not the reason or cause of their losing of the two-thirds majority in Parliament.
By pulling Anwar down using all sorts of unbelievable trump-up charges, one can only make martyr of the man, galvanise the opposition to greater heights and stir the people to become more anti-establishment.
The one and only one thing the BN can do to maintain power in the next coming election is to rule wisely. So much has been said of what ills the country is facing, and it takes a fool not to know what they are. If the political will and resolve is not there to put things right, then it is only right that in a democratic system another party with the vision and wiser men take over.
It is not about Anwar. It is about a strong opposition movement that is gathering momentum when the BN government continue to fail miserably is all its corrupt rule. If you think the people do not know, just wait for the result of the next election.
Vgood: You are right, Terence Netto. Anwar could have self-destruct, given all the problems he has with his party. Yet every time they pull a new accusation against him, it re-energised his campaign as the victim of an oppressive regime. It helps to draw an even bigger crowd unto him.
Whether or not the person in the video is Anwar, it becomes secondary, because at the end, we will be divided by two camps of opinions, depending of where you stand. The public institutions we owned have been decimated to such a state that our experts' opinion are no longer trusted to be neutral after Sodomy I and II.
If our nation is truly interested in a morally upright, religiously pious man as a leader, we should look no further than Tok Guru Nik Aziz Nik Mat. Yet, he has never been considered as a prime minister in waiting.
Upright or not, ultimately, the faith of this man, Anwar, is in the hands of his people.
Quigonbond: Even if BN has really nothing to do with this, the fact that they have presided over previous persecutions and prosecutions renders their credibility void. Malaysians are sick of concocted (or even real) sex scandals.
If the PM is the leader he thinks he is, he should move the agenda forward. Give us breakthroughs in research; show us students of all races studying, gaming and cooperating in genuine harmony; draw Malaysian migrants back to the country without them saying "still the same red tape and glass ceiling"; free the press; remove the threat of incarceration without trial; create a system of open tender; and finally restore dignity to the judiciary, the Parliament, the police force, the MACC, the MCMC, the AG's Chambers, and the other institutions of governance.
If BN can do that, it wouldn't have to worry about any resurgence of Anwar. Instead of doing the right thing, BN has decided instead play gutter politics.
Fido Dido: Why should Najib and Umno be scared of DSAI (Anwar) when he is just an MP and opposition leader. Is it because DSAI is more impeccably knowledgeable and has stronger leadership qualities than Najib. Or is it because Umno is losing ground with its one million members. Or are they worried that if DSAI takes over Putrajaya, they will be investigated and charged and imprisoned?
Whatever the reason, DSAI has the majority supporters of all races. There will be another political tsunami in the next GE.
Pakman: Umno has tried every dirty means to taint DSAI's image, but the Malaysian public are not that gullible to accept them without a big question mark. His pants are not that easy to be pulled down as he has been the an icon and torchbearer to spread the truth and expose all the misdeeds of the Umno/BN rule, present and past.
This latest action by Umno/BN to drag him down will backfire and contempt by the rakyat.
Black Mamba: The latest sex video episode has lend Anwar more credibility than it was intended. The shift in the onus of truth stays with BN than the accused and the fall of Anwar will definitely spells the destruction of Umno and its BN coalition in the next general election.
Pietiring: When the sound and proven system of check and balances was substantially undermined to tailor suit one person in power for almost 22 years, any aggrieved party against the powers-that-be in this land would be cornered to the wall.
Anwar, worrisome knows not, for the more your dignity is torn down, the more you won in the rakyat's hearts. The more you're silenced, the more you're charmed. The more you're jailed, the more you're not forgotten. That is DSAI, the justice and freedom fighter of this land.
Anonymous_3e2c: A simple survey of my Malay colleagues, some of whom are BN supporters, indicated that they are all 'pissed-off' with the latest video accusations against Anwar. They said that Umno seems to have taken it way too far this time around and have shot itself on its own foot. In the end, Anwar becomes a cult hero, thanks to this smear campaign.
Swipenter: Umno is trying desperately to catch Anwar with his pants down both literally and figuratively.
That obsession started with Sodomy I and the plot with its many variations, twists and turns continues to date. The downfall of Anwar can also spark the downfall of Umno; that is Umno's new dilemma.
