Q&A: Hudud accepts corroborative evidence from forensic sources

If PAS is in power, will it allow more freedom of religious practices such as permitting the sale of the Bahasa Malaysia version of the Bible in Christian bookshops and the construction of church buildings and Christian theological seminaries?

Does PAS intend to do away with oppressive laws like the Internal Security Act and the Printing Presses and Publications Act, and allow the citizens the freedom to publish legitimate news and views and have the right to assembly and gathering? Will PAS promise to restore elections for city and municipal councils?

Thomas SH Lee, Shah Alam

Nasharuddin :

Islam does not allow for the restriction of religious practices. The bible in Bahasa Malaysia in my view is permissible so long as sensitivities are respected. Where PAS is in government, there is no restriction on religious practice. In fact, temples have flourished and burial grounds and facilities have been built without hindrance.
