Blogger insists 'Christian conspiracy' must be probed

Don't Play God: I'm afraid that things don't look well for our nation. Every time Umno is under pressure, they will play up the race and religion card. And sad to say, the Malays respond to it.

Remember how Dr Mahathir Mohamad played up the race and religion card when Umno Baru was contesting against Semangat 46? It worked for Umno then. Now Umno is again using the same tactic.

Forget this Talent Corp. I am encouraging my children to look pursue their future elsewhere. This race and religion card will always be used by Umno for the next 100 years whenever Umno is under attack.

See how Home Minister Hishammuddin Hussein and Information Minister Rais Yatim quickly cashed in on this.

David Dass: It is clear that PM Najib Razak should intervened and brought some sanity to the situation. No one should be allowed to toy with race and religious issues with so much casualness. We have come this far as a peaceful and harmonious nation.

There is no question. The majority of Malaysians are peace-loving. The majority of Malaysians are law abiding. The majority of Malaysians have respect for our diversity of race and religion.

But there are fringe groups that have a distorted view of the world. They thrive on conflict. They love the adrenaline flow that comes from making blood-curdling speeches to ignorant people. These people must be stopped.

They must not be licensed to incite and foment people to riot. Democracy is about freedom and non-violent processes to bring about change. We have a system that works. We should not risk it by being careless.

Anonymous_3e06: We must probe this matter to the fullest, and you, Zakhir Mohamed aka Big Dog, also must be probed to the fullest. What is your motive in writing these articles? What are the facts? Are you a credible writer whose interest is in truth and not geared towards racism and religious hatred?

Let the police begin their work and look at it from all angles and also to question you and your sources. We must put a stop to this. However, we will not do it your way because that is the way to disaster. Maybe that is what you and your people want.

Anonymous_5fb: On what basis has this Big Dog come out with these accusations? He should in fact provide the police the evidence to support his accusation. It is easy for him to suggest an investigation to find the truth by saying, "If it is true, then it should be dealt with by taking appropriate action".

What if you cannot provide any evidence? If your accusation has no basis/evidence, what kind of 'appropriate action' should be taken against you? Now that the accused have denied your accusation, please show your evidence. If not, you are fit to be named 'Big Dog'.

Anonymous_3de1: When faced with a possible lawsuit, Utusan Malaysia is now engaged in doublespeak. As for the rabble-rouser Zakhir, he will still get away with impunity because Perkasa has come out in support of his trash. The police will not bother to investigate his fairy tale because the moronic home minister has already presumed the story to be true.

Instead, Jelutong MP Jeff Ooi and the pastors will be hauled up by the police to prove their innocence. This is how 1Malaysia works. Instead of mending its ways, BN has now further antagonised Christian BN supporters and driven them into opposition arms.

BN, do your worse and pay the price come the next GE.

Sarajun Hoda: I am feeling very uncomfortable. More and more people on the streets are saying the general election is round the corner and PM Najib is purposely allowing chaos so that top opposition leaders would be locked up to guarantee BN a safer win.

Anonymous_4182: Surely the general Muslim community is not amused by this latest fiasco. To be associated with these characters with embarrassing low intellect who think that they are doing Malaysia a service would send a shiver up the spine of everybody, be they Muslim or non-Muslim.

If the cabinet ministers think that this will get more votes in the GE13 through this episode, or by allowing government-controlled papers to run unsubstantiated brainless provocative articles, they must be totally underestimating the rakyat's intelligence.

This is another shot in the foot for BN, just like the porno tape.

KJ John: The police should investigate the facts and if found to be untrue or malicious, they should charge Zakhir under the relevant seditious nature of the accusation. I am very upset as a Christian against this false and baseless accusation.

Quigonbond: No one in the right mind would want to make Malay/Muslims angry as they are already Malaysia's majority population, and we know how easily some could be incited by renegade forces within Umno on that fateful day in May 1969.

I have little doubt that Utusan and Big Dog are under orders from forces within Umno to incite hatred towards Christians. Coming close to May 13, which by the way is Black Friday, it is not impossible for the public to perceive this as a dangerous concoction by Umno/Perkasa/Pembela to provoke a racial riot, arrest opposition leaders under the ISA, and then call for general elections when the opposition is greatly disadvantaged.

All Malaysians who are outraged with this madness must resist the temptation to lash out at anger towards Utusan /Umno/MCA/Perkasa/Pembela and instead choose to speak in measured tones. Just remember that come general election, you use your votes effectively to silence these extremists/opportunists once and for all.
