Nazri opens floodgates to religious hatred

Malaysian Born: De facto law minister Mohd Nazri Abdul Aziz has never been known to stray beyond the party line on any issue, so no surprise there. However, there is a point here.

Rather than get into the slippery slope of resorting to the ISA and similarly misused and abused laws, I think the correct approach should be to sue the bloggers and Utusan Malaysia for slander.

They can be branded as liars, manipulators and opportunists, but there is no reason from here on in to let them stand on artificial credibility. The Utusan editor is nothing more than a low-life involved in yellow or gutter journalism with sensationalism replacing truth and integrity.

There is no point talking, in the case of these characters they are lying through their teeth so teach them a lesson and sue their pants off.

Yap CS: It has started. Anything Umno says is permissible. Anything the opposition says is ISA'able. Watch for martial law, it is the next stage.

Kyw: I may have the right to cross when the traffic light is red, but I don't have the right to deprive or endanger other road users. Similarly, Ibrahim Ali has the right to talk rubbish, but he has no right to instigate others to commit a crime.

DAP to stand by Anwar even if he is jailed

Rayfire: I think Pakatan Rakyat should prepare a contingency plan with a new breed of young leaders to take the leadership role in the near future.

With or without DSAI (Anwar Ibrahim), the struggle against tyranny of the goons in power must continue. I see potential in Nurul Izzah, Nizar Jamaluddin, Fong Po Kuan and many more who could provide the much-needed fresh breath into the struggle.

While they plan to nail DSAI down, we shall nail them when they least expect it.

Cannon: Anwar had been surrounded by fair weather friends, friends who sat and ate at his table and benefitted from his patronage when he was at the height of his power. People who abused his trust, betrayed him and stick their heels into him when he is down.

These characters have since crossed over to the other camp. It's good for Anwar to find out who his real friends are when he is in trouble. And good for the DAP to stand by him. It is essential that Pakatan break BN's political culture of intrigues, blackmails and betrayals.

Show the people by example that they can look to Pakatan for constructive change.

Docs: I personally think that if Anwar is found guilty for Sodomy II and is sent to prison, then that may work positively for Pakatan in the general election. After all, a political martyr - in this case Anwar being sent to prison - will attract ‘pissed-off voters', ‘sympathy voters', ‘fence-sitter voters' and ‘anything else but BN voters' to Pakatan.

Geronimo: The Chinese character of ‘crisis' can be taken apart into two sub-text, ‘danger' and ‘opportunity', and this is what Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng was referring to. Should Anwar fall, I am sure Pakatan has another person to pick up the flag to carry on with the charge.

M'sia1st: My theory - Anwar would be found guilty and jailed. Then Najib will call GE13 and win, with or without two-thirds majority. However, after six years in jail, after appeal or review, the Federal Court will overturn and free Anwar.

Anwar misses GE14, and in GE15, Pakatan wins convincingly and BN finally dies. Just like Nelson Mandela, God willing Anwar shall be the true prime minister for all Malaysians. By that time, he could probably be in wheelchair and age 74, still very much younger than Mandela when he became South African president.

So, the fight is indeed still a long torturous one. When the going gets tough, the tough get going.

Mahathir admitted to IJN for chest infection

M'sia1st: As a rakyat, a human being and a Muslim brother, I wish Tun (Dr Mahathir Mohamad) a fast and speedy recovery.

Obviously as premier for 22 years, you have contributed significantly to our beloved country. Thanks so much. However, being human, you ,too, must have erred, and committed many incorrect decisions which resulted in injustices to the rakyat, including your continuous assault and humiliation of Anwar and his family.

Thus, it is most appropriate for you to ask for forgiveness from the rakyat while you are still breathing. May God bless you, Tun.

Concerned Citizen 1e05: You know, when YB Lim Kit Siang underwent an eye surgery, I know very well through tweets that even BN people wished him well. Why can't we be big enough, regardless of one's politics, failings and so forth, wish for one's health?

Joe Lee: We, the Buddhists, say to have compassion for all sentient beings. So, for the bad dictator, and purveyor of discord and racial hate in the country, we say good prayers for you. May you live to see the wrongs of your ways, and may Allah forgive you on your day of judgement.

Dood: Whoever made the rule that one must not speak ill of the sick, the suffering or the dead regardless of what they have done is a fool. One is judged by his actions and being sick or dead does not grant one any immunity from being judged.

To deny this simple truth is to agree to say Hitler was a wonderful patriot who fought for his country, his race and his beliefs, never mind that he massacred millions while he was at it. Or perhaps we should praise Osama bin Laden for his steadfast faith and dedication towards his cause to changing the world to be a better place (in his eyes)?

I don't care who you are or whether you're at your prime or at the brink of death - if you have done evil deeds, you deserve to be spat upon and cursed. Nothing gives you the right to claim sympathy for the wrongs you have done to others - especially the wrongs you have done to humanity.

To absolve evil men of their deeds is to do a grave injustice to their victims.

Siapa Nama?: It is sad to hear so many negative comments about our former PM. If not for his double-headed political games and his totally insensitive racial remarks after his retirement, he would have been dearly missed. But he knew all along the game he played.
