Pemerhati: Kuala Selangor MP Dzulkefly Ahmad criticised de facto law minister Mohd Nazri Abdul Aziz's inaction against Ibrahim's inflammatory and racist rhetoric by saying, "The situation he is describing is hell let loose. He is opening the floodgates to chaos. We are talking about the complete breakdown of the rule of law, utter lawlessness".

This is exactly what Umno is hoping would happen if it loses the next elections as it would give it a pretext to declare a state of emergency and hold on to power. Umno has been trying out various strategies to get a sufficient number of simple and gullible people worked up to create chaos and mayhem.

The cow head and pig head issues, the Allah issue and church burnings and now Ibrahim's inflammatory and provocative statements are all to anger a sufficient number of people, who, as Najib said, would be willing to lose their lives and have their bones crushed.

Let us hope that Malaysians are smart enough to see through Umno's evil strategy and remain calm.

Multi Racial: I am a Malaysiakini subscriber and I am happy with its service. The most important is whatever reported by them can be trusted. As for Utusan , I am surprised they were in number 15. For that paper, even if they pay me to read it, I would not want.

The other papers like The Star , New Straits Times and other government-controlled media are getting very, very boring. In fact, I find Singapore media more interesting, especially during their general election. They seem to give space for the opposition as well.

Balanced and independent reporting is important. As far as I am concerned, those who don't offer that are not worth reading.
