Copies of a video clip depicting a man resembling Anwar Ibrahim have been sent to a large number of Chinese new village and kampung heads throughout Selangor.

He said according to the postmarks, the packages were sent from Malacca and Shah Alam.

Over the past week, numerous Malay village chiefs have reported receiving the same CDs, with Pakatan Rakyat leaders claiming it was a move to smear Anwar’s name.

Selangor has been identified as a front-line state for BN in the next general election, where a slight swing against Pakatan would help BN return to power.

Earlier today, Ean Yong accompanied the 15 new village or kampung heads from the Ulu Langat area to lodge a police report over the matter.

Exco man decries investigation delays

Ean Yong said he suspects BN was behind sending the packages and expressed disappointment with the delays in prosecuting the ‘Datuk T’ group, which first screened the video clip to journalists on March 21.

“If the police want to show that these two issues are unrelated, there shouldn’t be any more delays,” he said.

azlan The Datuk T or Datuk Trio group is led by former honorary Thai Consul in Langkawi Shazryl Eskay Abdullah and include former Malacca chief minister Rahim Thamby Chik and former Perkasa treasurer Shuib Lazim.

All three had their statements recorded by the police four days after the screening.

Eskay claimed to have secured the video footage when he searched the room, allegedly on Anwar’s instructions, to collect a watch that was left behind.

After securing the video clip, Eskay said it must be made public to pressure Anwar to step down from his Dewan Rakyat and party positions.

He also claimed that he had passed the original copy of the video clip to the police, but in the following weeks, the full clip was sent to MPs and was also uploaded to the Internet.

The police claimed that three individuals had been arrested in relation to the sex video, but they have yet been charged.
