Defend Putrajaya call - a sign of desperation
'If the event is held in conjunction with World Youth Day, shouldn't the message be one that is relevant to roles played by youths and not one of partisanship?'
Najib enlists youth to help 'defend Putrajaya'
Quigonbond: Shouting to defend Putrajaya actually sends a shiver down my spine for its tackiness. The youth who participated, or their parents or guardians, or friends or relatives, should consider this question - why would you want to help BN defend Putrajaya?
Do you want to defend corruption, abuse of power, failing institutions of governance, biased courts, MACC, Election Commission, police and mainstream media, bad governance, lack of vision, dirty politics, unfairness, injustice, racism, religious bigotry, getting away with threats, murder, intimidation, bribery, blackmail and embezzlement, oversized cabinet and civil service, dropping education standards and national competitive standards, dropping productivity, curtailment of democratic space and civil liberties, failed economic management, incompetence, gross negligence, little Napoleons, and others?
Then think Pakatan Pakatan - new, still tripping over each other, but darn good policies that will bring Malaysia out of rut. The choice is clear.
Nik V: Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin said that up to one million visitors attended the assembly and gave the impression that many young Malaysians ‘support' this corrupt and prejudiced government.
If there is even an iota of truth in this, then all the fence-sitters should give their votes to Pakatan in order to ensure a balance of representatives since PM Najib Razak and Muhyiddin claim to have so much support.
Anonymous: From the TV footage, it didn't seem to be one million people there. But is this a government or a BN event though?
If this is held in conjunction with World Youth Day, shouldn't the message be one that is relevant to roles played by youths, and not one of partisanship? Clearly this is a blatant abuse of government fund for party campaigning.
Cinaputra: Putrajaya belongs to the people, not to you, Najib. Why would they defend it against BN's political foes when the regime is systematically running the country to the ground through obscene corruption, racism, racial polarisation, religious bigotry, destruction of key institutions, etc?
Come 2020, you think Malaysia will be a high income and developed country? Look around and see the discriminatory policies causing the nation to lose our talented and skilled citizens to other countries.
Where are we to obtain the appropriate human capital to sustain the transformation you are talking about? Depend on Talent Corp to deliver the goods or rely on our homegrown ‘skilled' technocrats to fill the void? These zombie graduates churned out year after year can't even find decent jobs as they lack basic survival skills through a skewed education policy.
You are doing a bad job really and you think the young will be prepared to die for you?
Ttloo: Is Putrajaya under attack? Yes, by righteous people who had risked their lives fighting corruption, abuse of power, and the ills of the nation.
Youth of today are able to differentiate between right or wrong and when the time comes, the march to defend Putrajaya will go down in history as the corrupted are relinquished.
Jimmy Ng: This is another sure indication that Najib is getting really scared that he and his gang of thieving, conniving robbers are going to be kicked out of Putrajaya. Shout all the slogans as he may want to, but it will not be enough to save him and his band of thugs.
Fairnessforall: When the so-called One Million Youth Gathering was announced, the youth were not informed that there was a political agenda to it as the youth who attended were enticed by many other programmes.
If those youths who attended have brains, they should realise that what Pakatan meant when they talked about selling Putrajaya was that the government does not need to build such luxurious buildings, and the money can go to improving the people's livelihood instead.
By Election Fan: Mr PM, why there is no major registration for new voters by Election Commission after March 2008? Why is BN not allowing automatic qualification for all youth who turn 21 to be voters?
I am willing to bet to my last dollar that the youth will not defend BN/Umno from being kicked out of Putrajaya. The youth shall be the saviours of this country.
Ericlcc: I can't believe that there is such a leader whom the youth of this country want to defend when in the very first instance these are the very leaders who is going to bankrupt the country and leave behind a mountain of debts for the youths to pay off for the rest of their lives.
Kgen: BN has nothing to offer the youth of Malaysia. All it can offer is a deteriorating standard of living and an uncertain future. The youth of this country should help kick out BN.
No political party entitled to 'defend Putrajaya'
Abasir: Najib will go down in history as the most desperate prime minister the country has ever had. I'm afraid that with his now obvious obsession with power and privilege, he will do anything, say anything, use anything to cling on.
Troubleshooter_sltiger: It's high time they stopped talking rubbish. Putrajaya belongs to Malaysians, and Malaysians will decide as to which party should occupy Putrajaya and also as to who should be our prime minister in the 13th GE.
Anonymous_40f4: Earlier on Saturday morning, Najib was at Gemas military camp. Luckily, he did not use the same speech there. Or did he?
