Remember those who died in Bukit Merah

vox populi small thumbnail 'I remember, because my sister became a widow in her early 40s with two young children. It was supposed to be safe, said the experts.'

Lynas opponents mount beachside protest

Steven For Malaysia: My salute to my Kuantan brothers and sisters for your sacrifice to participate in the movement to protect our environment.

Just pray that the experts will take heed of the opinions expressed by the town folks that the rare earth industry is without doubt an environmentally hazardous industry.

Why should our country, rich in everything, need such an industry? According to Perimekar, submarine ‘administrative services' alone earn RM500 million; what is this RM700 million dirty investment?

A Voter: Remember those who died of cancer in the Bukit Merah neighbourhood? I remember, because my sister became a widow in her early 40s with two young children. It was supposed to be safe, said the experts.

Don't Leave Name: Where are the PM, DPM, MCA, MIC, Umno? We never hear them commenting on this issue. Don't you care about the people? We are waiting for you to say something.

Arkay_3d9d: All the government leaders care about are their pockets.

Stakeholders scuffle at expert panel meet

Ghkok: Only now, MCA is starting to mount some offensive against the Lynas plant whereas Pakatan Rakyat has been mounting a nationwide campaign for months already and have already gathered 50,000 signatures. How come MCA just woke up ?

Disgusted: Umno and its thugs at it again. They don't need any police permit to demonstrate violently. In fact, they get police protection to do so. However, any peaceful march by the opposition and independent NGOs is considered violent by the home minister and he sends his dogs to whack and arrest them.

Imagine Malaysia under BN can't seem to be able to compete in the world stage for manufactured goods or services and attract FDI due to inefficient government systems, lack of consistency in enforcement, corruption, breakdown of law and order and sub-standard employees produced by a retarded educational system. It now has to resort to attracting companies producing toxic and radioactive waste, which are rejected by developed nations.

By Election Fan: Umno's true colours is now exposed. They only know methods of gangsters and sex. Long live Umno, Long live the Umnoputras.

Sandakan: Only in Malaysia do we have idiots supporting radioactive pollution.

Anonymous_3ec6: I wonder how much Lynas paid Pahang Umno to turn the state into a waste land. Why not build the plant near the MB's house, if this project is harmless.

Malay Expat: The chair of IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency) board of governors in Vienna is Muhammad Shahrul Ikram Yaakob (ex-ambassador to Qatar).

He is brother to current Pahang MB Adnan. So what do you expect from IAEA?

S'wak CM's office 'issued cheques to buy votes'

M'siaKiniFan: The MACC (Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission) to act against the ‘Thief Minister' of Sarawak? No bloody way. He and his gang - Alfred Jabu, James Masing, Joseph Mawan, George Chan - make and follow their own rules. They don't have to answer to Umno or Najib.

As long as the thieves are thriving, they don't care about whoever are the ‘tuans'. MACC is only meant to prey on Pakatan and the small fry.

Ghkok: It's vote buying, plain and simple. It destroys democracy. It destroys liberty. It prolongs the pain and suffering of our country and our people. It prolongs tyranny. It prolongs oppression.

It drains our country of much needed funds for improvement in roads, schools, housing and security. It prolongs the agony of corruption in our country. It kills our country. Plain and simple.

2cts Worth: I don't think you can charge any of the Umno crooks on corruption. They are a law unto themselves. They have now termed their vote buying ‘help' money, ‘transport' money, etc.

The Election Commission and MACC have accepted these new terminology. Hence they will say corruption has been curtailed in Malaysia. Malaysia will soon be declared a corruption-free country by the world community.

GI Joe: Who actually has the authority to take action on such rampant corruption? It is a dumb question which we all know the answer.

Douglas Tan 25b2: Elections must be a very expensive exercise for a so-called ‘fixed-deposit' state. No wonder the government has run out of money for subsidies.
