Scorpene: Gov't should help Suaram with legal costs

vox populi small thumbnail 'Isn't this a case about seeking compensation for Malaysia for an economic loss suffered due to DCN paying illegal commission to Perimekar?'

Scorpene 'kickbacks': Full trial sought

Ksn: Let us hope and pray that the truth, and nothing but the truth, comes out of the trial. That should include punishing those involved in corruption, the attendant crimes committed in Malaysia and outside without exclusion, regardless of positions.

Full justice must be served and all the rumours can then be put aside, one way or the other. Good work, Suaram.

Ruben: All like-minded Malaysians have been waiting for this trial for a long time. More so, this will not be held in a Malaysian court. So just like others, I will help pay for the costs to get justice finally delivered for the sake of the rakyat.

Just me: Is our enemy PM Najib Razak or Umno? With Najib gone, the next leader will be just as bad. Do you think the present DPM is an angel?

Anonymous: This is not about politics or getting rid of anybody, this is about upholding justice for Altantuya Shaariibuu and accountability for government purchases.

AnakBangsaMalaysia: This will show the world just how corrupt and partisan the entire Malaysian police and judicial apparatus have become: a high-profile murder and corruption case that they have tried desperately to suppress, will now be exposed and tried in France.

We hope that the French courts will be able to uphold justice and expose the ugly truths behind the Scorpene procurement scandal, the brutal murder of Altantuya, the subsequent cover-up of her murder by the Malaysian government and the alleged links to Najib.

Hibiscus: Isn't this a case about seeking compensation for Malaysia for an economic loss suffered by the country due to the French company DCN paying illegal commission to Perimekar?

If so, then the Malaysian government is duty bound to pay for the legal fees and other expenses incurred by Suaram. Suaram should apply for financial assistance from Putrajaya to meet its legal and other expenses.

The government should take this opportunity to demonstrate its sincerity in fighting corruption, especially one as colossal as this, by quickly releasing the much needed funds to Suaram as the court case is less than a couple of months away.

Justice Kini: With Suaram taking this case to the French court, the Malaysian legal authorities, the police and Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) should be ashamed for closing both eyes and not lifting their finger to pursue the case.

If France finds something amiss, the whole BN cabinet should resign en bloc.

Klangboy: Since it is now known that Perimekar was paid, whether legally or illegally, did the company pay any income tax?

S'gor Umno chief: Was the sex video any good?

Artchan: So porn video distribution is legal? Good, now if the authorities arrest roadside video peddlers they can use this justification: if Umno can distribute pornography, everybody else can too.

Pakman: It is not about the uneasiness of the rakyat about the mailing of the video but the influence of it, for example, what if the children including your sons or daughters are shown this sex video. Umno's stupid answer shows how pathetic Umno can be.

Anonymous_40f4: Noh Omar is the minister in charge of cows and goats. He and his ministry's smart guys and crony contractors should be locked up in one of their useless and shoddy projects.

Ghkok: The police will not do anything that they are not ‘instructed' to do. Therefore, it may be assumed that there's nothing to be done.

In light of this, the best countermeasure for Pakatan to undertake is to release a ‘counter video' and disseminate it widely in all places that the porno video is found.

The ‘counter video' should contain an account of the whole saga, pictures of the ‘Datuk T' trio who allegedly produced the video, the illegal showing at Carcosa Seri Negara, the probable motives behind the slander, the inaction of the government and police, the slanderous statements by Utusan Malaysia , Perkasa and all the other sub-contractors of umno.

Yes, it's hard work but it must be done. It's an effective countermeasure.

Righteous: Umno and Datuk T shame the Malays and Muslims. Repent please. Where are the ulama and the kings, the servants of Allah?

Bertrand Russell: I am just dismayed with Noh Omar. He needs to grow up and stick this into his head that any God-fearing man will not advocate for the video to be distributed at all.

He should now be pressing the government to punish the three ‘stooges' for showing pornographic materials in public. If it is not Umno that has not distributed it, then get the police to find out the culprits who are sending it out. These guys are hell-bent on destroying Anwar Ibrahim before the next GE13.

Wira: I disagree with the suggestion Umno is "playing dumb". They are not playing dumb. They are dumb.
