My Secret: From Shamsuddin Hayroni's statement, you know Dr Mohd Khir Toyo will be freed from the charges. There was no coercion, there was no proof of payment, and the silly contractor sold at a dirt cheap price under his own belief that he may be penalised.

Who would not want to buy at a discount.? Both will get off easy and the businessman made a bad investment. Khir Toyo has made a killing on the property.

Well, since everything is being exposed right now, will the people of Selangor wake up and see how this ex-MB's corrupt practices? Or they remain in their slumber?

Dingy: The plan is that Khir Toyo will be found guilty, PM Najib Razak calls for the 13th general election to show to the people that the government is serious on corruption. The ex-MB might even be convicted.

After the election, if BN wins, Khir Toyo will appeal and the case will be found by the Court of Appeal to have insufficient evidence and he will be discharged.

Tell the Truth: This whole sandiwara (drama) is to say that the government has done its job to charge Khir Toyo, but obviously the attorney-general has ensured that the case will be thrown out and both will go scot-free. Shamsuddin, after all, was freed of all the charges and turned prosecution witness.

In Malaysian courts, criminals be able to get scot-free if they are cronies of Umno. For others, especially from the opposition, they will be prosecuted with all kinds of lies and deception as well as planted evidence.

Multi Racial: If the government is serious of fighting corruption then Khir Toyo should be made example and sentence to maximum jail and confiscate all his wealth less his MB salary and bonus, if the court found guilty. A strong signal must be sent to everyone to instill fear that corruption is bad.

Five promising ideas from PAS' new line-up

Quigonbond: The challenge for Pakatan Rakyat is to translate conceptual ideas such as fair competition, disruption of abuse of monopolistic positions, corruption and abuse of power into tangible day-to-day matters that effect everyone, whether they are in the rural areas or the urban areas. Amongst others:

1) Embezzlement means less money for government projects, and we have limited resource.

2) Corruption means government projects end up with pathetic quality. Public safety becomes affected.

3) Monopoly by cronies means prices are high.

4) Discrimination means brain drain, and without sufficient brains, government agencies and companies will be rendered incompetent.

5) Incompetence results in loss of money, and many a times, life.

6) Corruption means the police protect powerful people. People without honorific titles get thrown into jail and goes unreported in the media.

7) Unfair media means skewed information, means the public cannot make informed decisions, and means the government can lie about anything.

KSN: PAS is merely being practical, sensible, realistic and smart by taking pointers from Umno, which has been lead the country in the wrong direction.

PAS has realised and accepted the fact that Malaysia is a multi-religious and multi-racial country and that the Islam as propagated by Umno, Ibrahim Ali, Mahathir Mohamad and other mullahs is not good for the country and the people.

If social justice, fairness are the basic tenants of Islam, other religions as well and practised accordingly, there is no reason why non-Muslims should not support PAS, especially now that PAS is in coalition with PKR and DAP.

Let us all work very hard single-mindedly to get rid of fanatics, corruption and abuse of power. This country then will be a global showpiece for peace, harmony and unity. Go for it PAS.

4EverMalaysian: Indeed, PAS is progressing very positively and in the right direction for the country. While PAS looks very progressive, Umno seems to be in a state of directionless.

If all the resolutions that have been agreed in the recent muktamar are translated rightly, appropriately and timely into reality, then Umno/BN would surely die.

PM's Dept sees silver lining in brain drain

Wira: Emigration of human capital is not necessarily bad if, as the Prime Minister's Department says, it is successful in attracting the return of skilled Malaysians living abroad to build a business network that can promote Malaysian products and services overseas.

But as our creme-de-la-creme are replaced by unskilled labour from Indonesia and Bangladesh, Putrajaya still dreams of the days when skilled Malaysians will suddenly abandon their adopted country and network elsewhere and return home to serve in a country which had first abandoned them. Dream on, Mr PM.

Siayt: This is only the case for countries like India and China. India is the outsourcing preference for the US and European Union countries, whilst China is the world's factory due to very low cost.

Indeed some business successes can be attributed to Chinese and Indians who studied in foreign countries and brought knowledge back. So far, Malaysia is unable to compete due to the lack of investment in infrastructure and the lack of human capital.

Teh: When answering Batu Gajah MP Fong Po Kuan's "brain drain" question, the PM's Department gave a "brain dead" answer.

Dark Archon: I love the last part of their reply: "... productivity and inclusive development policies ... have already been addressed by the Government Transformation Programme and Economic Transformation Programme."

That answer is assuming, of course, that these two ‘programmes' do address the above mentioned policies. Of course, it's more often than not that people from these two programmes will be pointing their fingers at TalentCorp, again.

In the end, everybody expect somebody to do something, and it ended up nobody does it. Isn't that fabulous?
