Najib, let's mobilise 3 mil to back fair elections

your say 'It would be good if Umno members are also for free and fair elections. They should come out and join the Bersih rally.'

Najib: Umno can mobilise 3 million if we wanted to

Geronimo: Coming from a prime minister of a country, the statement made is certainly childish. It is so 'kiasu', just like Perkasa chief Ibrahim Ali.

Until now, PM Najib Razak still can't get it into his thick skull that all Bersih want is fair and clean polls. Bersih chief S Ambiga has already said it doesn't matter who win, BN or Pakatan, as long as the election is clean and fair.

If by any chance BN wins, wouldn't that look good for Najib and his Umno ilk. He is seen more legitimate than he is now. What's more, he won on a mandate that BN was truly the people's choice.

Now with all the manipulation supported by the EC, even if BN wins, it would have been won out of cheating the electorates wholesale.

Karma: When Najib was told that the Muslims will protest against the Christians, he said he can't stop them and churches were burnt. Home Minister Hishammuddin Hussein defended the cow-head protest by saying they have the right to protest.

When Perkasa types took to the streets in Komtar many times and burnt the effigy of Penang CM, the police just stood by and watched.

Of course, Najib can mobilise three million Malaysians to come out on the streets because we, the taxpayers will pay for their transportation and accommodation. We wonder if Najib knows how many more million people support Bersih?

Multi Racial: There is nothing wrong to mobilise people to demonstrate as long as it is done for good cause and in a peaceful manner. Bersih 2.0 has made it clear their objective and their intention to do it peacefully. We welcome this move.

Perkasa intends to mobilise their members to cause chaos and disrupt the Bersih demonstration. This should not be allowed. Umno Youth plans to have a demonstration to counter Bersih 2.0. There is nothing wrong with that if it is peaceful, but it is best that this is held on a different day.

Louis: As a prime minister, he is expected to find a just solution to the problem. Instead he is blowing his own trumpet that he can mobilised three million Umno members to counter Bersih.

What he should do is to bring out the three million on another day to show his strength of support. But Najib is not keen to solve the problem but instead indirectly fanning the flame of anger against Bersih.

NuckinFuts: Assemble three million to participate in the struggle for fair and clean elections? Do it! Indeed, BN was invited to join Bersih 2.0 from the start.

Baiyuensheng: It would be good if Umno members are also for free and fair elections. They should come out and join the Bersih rally.

'Yellow wave' in Parliament by Pakatan reps

JBGUY: All MPs should don the Bersih T-shirt and see if the PDRM will arrest them. This is the first time in history that there is a law against wearing a particular T-shirt. We are living in a fascist state.

The PDRM should enforce the law and not play politics. I hope the IGP (inspector-general of police) will take an impartial role and order his officers to respect the rule of law.

Anonymous: The stupid are really getting stupider. The world will be laughing at us. How more stupid can we get? And yellow is the colour of royalty in Malaysia. So, the Agong cannot wear yellow? How absurd.

Mirror on the Wall: The simple reason that Bersih is having a rally is that the people want free and fair elections. And the reason being that the elections are obviously not. Unless there is a fundamental change in the election process, no amount of marching or chest beating is going to see a Pakatan Rakyat government at the federal level.

I doubt if a rally alone will ensure a BN defeat at the general elections. That's because the elections will be rigged. It is sad and tragic, but brace yourselves for another term of BN tomfoolery. Anyway, I will be there July 9.

Kee Thuan Chye: Those arrested for wearing Bersih T-shirts must take out a suit against the police and the government. The (lack of) law must be tested. It's best to do it now, while there's still time before the Bersih rally.

Anonymous: Remember the song ‘Tie a yellow ribbon on the old oak tree'? It's a heart-warming homecoming song. Yes, Bersih will bring home to Malaysia the Tunku's noble dreams for a united, progressive and peaceful Malaysia, regardless of race, creed or colour.

WeCANLive: The distribution of Bersih 2.0 T-shirts should be done at every corner of the country, in all cities, food stalls, bazaars, etc. This massive distribution will cause chaos to law enforcers and thereby depleting their resources to try and round up the so-called ‘haram' T-shirts.

Let the 'FALL of BN' Begins: I ordered 50 Bersih T-shirts, and they have arrived in Penang. I have distributed 48 to my friends and kept two for myself. Yes, 50 of us are going down to KL and paint the city yellow on July 9.
